To get Christians won over to atheism?

Or to create a united front, consisting of Americans of ALL philosophical bents, against the Trotskyite neoconservatives (largely atheists, but not YOUR kind of atheists, of course) who have duped American evangelicals into buying into their "support Israel in ANY case" philosophy?

I know these people. Heels are going to be dug in harder if you aren't wise in how you present your anti-war argument.

Christians? Why would someone chose to be persecuted as a Christian?
I don't believe gay people are born that way anymore than I believe anyone is born a religion. They are choices....you may be more likely to be something depending on your birth (genetic or environmental) but you still make a choice.

Seminary can be described as a graduate school for training potential pastors. I noted that some comments about seminary from Y!A users have made it sound like it's a place where people go to have their faith rung out of them. I wondered if this were a trend among Christians.

Would you prefer a pastor who can read the New Testament Greek and Old Testament Hebrew or one who's dependent on translations?

Would you prefer a pastor who's been trained on how to respond to dilemma's of faith or one who leans on the Holy Spirit in the moment?

Is there any merit in learning some of the nuances of public speaking, or is it better just to speak off the cuff about faith?

In the Bible, the verse Luke 19:27 reads "But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me." So much for tolerance, eh?

I just watched the Outsiders about those neo-nazi girls and it got me to thinking can extreme racist like neo-nazi be Christians?? I mean their doctrine conflicts with the bible's message of peace and love. For example:

Ephesians 5:1, 2: Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Romans 12:3: For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

1 Tim 2:4: God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Acts 17:26, James 4:16, Proverbs 8:13, and Proverbs 16:18

The bible gives a lot of counsel on pride and thinking too much of yourself so I could go on and on and on. How is this possible or is it just another example of Isaiah 5:20-22?

He would surely conduct the Midnight Mass at his Catholic church. Perhaps evening masses when Daylight Savings Time ends. He couldn't take communion wine (sub blood for it). There could possibly be a church for vampires who are not too far gone, who have a chance to repent. A church that doesn't have holy water, a cross, any religious statues, etc. What if there really was such a church, would you check it out once to see what it was like. They would not in any way, worship Satan.

I've read conflicting views on this. Some say it has to do with faith. Some say it's sacriligeous.

Imagine it people, everyone running around naked! Muslims, between themselves, are always always always foaming at the mouth about this, they (overseas Muslims) really believe we are all having sex, have no fathers, and are all running around naked!

Muslims, so, imagine that your insecure hate imam's propaganda is true...so what? I mean, play it out now...what happens?

"Ohh...everyone gets aids!!" >>> Bullsh**t!! Nudist colonies exist and there is no such phonemina where they all have sex and get aids.

"Ohh, so I can see your sister and mother naked!!" >>> I dont OWN my mother or sister or any woman....get that? So, what I want is irrelevant...I bet you still dont get this...

In the U.S. polygamy is illegal but Peter said we must obey God rather than man. What is the right course?

Deu 25:5 If brothers live together, and one of them dies, and has no son, the wife of the dead shall not go outside to a strange man; her brother-in-law shall go in to her, and take her to himself for a wife, and shall perform the duty of the levirate;
Deu 25:6 and it shall be, the first-born which she bears shall rise up for his dead brother's name, and his name shall not be wiped out of Israel.

Please offer your answer, (yes or no), and why or why not.

Don't give stupid reasons such as "The bible says so!", or "God didn't answer my prayers, so I hate him."

Intelligent reasons only.

I am not looking down on anyone.... However I am interested in answers from Atheist who used to be Christian, Judaist, Muslim....etc... whatever. You used to believe in a supreme being, How is it that you can go from one extreme to another? I mean believing a some creator and not believing anything at all is kind of peculiar? I mean isn't that a lil fanatical? I just watched someone who was such a holy roller that she had a tattoo of Jesus and a Cross on her back! and then a couple years later she has this epiphany that there is no Christ and no God either for that matter. I dont know....What was the turning point in your life which lead you to this dedicated decision?
