I do believe because if it is true I gain everything. If it is not true, I lose nothing. How about you?

I`m interested in philosophy and the human mind, so I want you guys to answer a few questions. Since some people call it prejudice, I want to see what you think. Do you think its prejudice? What are you against(list all)? Why are you against it? Do you think these people have certain personality traits? What are they? Do hate them or are you just against it? Are you against it purely because of what your religion says? If not, what are your other reasons? Do you have any friends with those beliefs/life style? If not, would you be friends with anyone like that? Did your friends/family have a lot of influence on your dislike to the beliefs/life style? If your child or someone else you love a lot changed to the religion/sexuality, what would your reaction be, could you still love them? Anything else you want to state, please be my guest. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure it says not to murder in the Bible somewhere. How can you forgive those who murder and rape and molest, but not forgive gay people, who are simply trying to live their life happily? Priests absolve people of their sins before death. So a man who has lets say murdered 20 people is forgiven, but a gay man who falls in love with another man is going to hell?

Can someone explain?

This is basically anonymous for most people here, so you can be honest. Do you ACTUALLY believe that stuff? Do you ACTUALLY believe that the world was made in 7 days, even though it has been proven to have taken trillions of years?
That may not be a great example, but you get what I'm saying.
From observing religous people, I'm not so sure that any of them actually believe what they go out and preach. I think they preach because they WANT to believe it (for a myriad of reasons...hey I think it would be cool to live forever, but it is obviously impossible), AND because it makes their teachings seem more real to them.
Can you tell me with a straight face that you sincerely believe that when I die, my "spirit" will go off to some imaginary land in the sky, be put before this "god", and then he will then send me off to one of two other worlds in the sky (heaven or hell)?
If you do, YOU"RE NUTS!!! peace..oh and for the smartass out there: Im not looking 4 ne thing! Im happy now!!!

Do you know of any good, academic books on the subject? I'm going to do a paper on Zoroastrian Apocalyptic theology. I'm very fascinated by the subject, just wondered if anyone had any insight about resources. Thanks.

Assuming that people are born homosexual, and that God create all lives (just like creating different personalities) and gives His love unconditionally, then what's the big fuss with the Church accepting homosexuals?
Surely if ex-murderer or rapists can be accepted to the faith, there should be no bar to entry, so to speak.

Christians accept Jesus as the Messiah. Muslims accept Jesus as the Messiah. But so called God's Choosen people the Jews, rejected Jesus as the messiah for 2000 years. But Why?

There have been two theories told to me.

1) That those who do not believe in Jesus are going to hell (which doesn't seem fair to other religions)

2) That God has a special plan for those who are of different relgion.

I'm so confused!
Which one is it?
and for that matter, are either of them right?
(maybe this isn't right versus wrong, but more on perspective)

What do you think?
I just wanted to know.
Because if the first one is true (someone told me that there was a Bible quote saying that) then how is that fair to other religions?

If the second is true, then what is the special plan?

If neither are true, could you tell me what you believe?
Just trying to get some better perspective!
:)

I've stumbled across a theory that has been keeping me up at night, and I'm interested in your take. What if nothing is truly evil, and nothing is truly good? What if everything that occurs in the world is neutral....and we make it positive or negative by our response/reactions? If you think about it, this is actually a rather dizzying concept. That would mean that we would have to take total responsibility for our actions/reactions...and couldn't blame anyone or anything for our sorrows or our joys, because we create them ourselves. i do believe in a higher power, and that we are all trying to get back home....to rejoin with it (long story), and now I think I know how to do it. Take responsibility for myself and my spiritual growth. What do you think?

i'm dating a jewish boy, but they've told me so many things (like they don't take catholic girls seriously or stuff) that i'm kinda freaking out! i've heard of jewish/catholic couples who even get married but i wanted to see a general opinion. For the matter, his parents come from Israel but another jewish friend (who was friends with his ex) told me they (the parents) aren't that way.... so anyways, just wanted an honest opinion, specially from jewish people

I am amazed by an interesting common thing between most religions.
That is the concept of a saviour type figure. It is a common thing
both in all Western and Eastern Religions--theistic(Christianity,Judaism,Islam,Hinduism,Zoroastrianism) or atheistic(Buddhism). Christian believe in the second coming of Jesus,Muslims believe in the coming of Mahdi(mentioned by the name Muhammed in authentic Hadithes), Jews believe in the coming of the Messiah(not Jesus),Hindus in the last(10th) incarnation of
God--Kalki Avatar and even Buddhists in the coming of the last Buddha--Maitreya.he Zoroastrian Messiah, Saoshyant, will be conceived and born of a virgin mother to guide the pious and destroy the evil. As the Gathas says: "Zaratust went near unto his wife Hvov three times, and each time the seed went to the ground; the angel Neryosang received the brilliance and strength of that seed, delivered it with care to the angel Anahid, and in time will blend it with a mother"

...then why isn't every atheist -- who don't believe in Heaven/Hell/God/Jesus or followng the Bible, and therefore, dont have any moral compass -- living a total immoral life? What keeps us from killing everyone we dont like, sleeping with everyone's spouses, hating our mothers and fathers, etc? How come I am not totally confused between right and wrong?

Do Christians and fundies really believe that there would be total moral chaos without the magical fantasy Lords watching over us? I'm really curious about this because I constantly see people saying things like "well how do you know right from wrong if you don't believe in god?".

My fellow bredren: Because so many ask questions concerning God, and get all sorts of pagan answers, I have decided to just ask what is it you truly want to know about God. Many questions can not be answered in just a couple of words; for many times it is necessary for supporting scripture or historical document to be quoted. Well, as a servant of The Most High God, I offer my knowledge which has been bestowed upon me by H.I.M. who created us. And I say test me, and see if I can't point you in the right direction, or offer insight and light where there is darkness. If possible, include your email address, and I will respond asap... for I check this daily. And being that they only allow 48 hours for responses, I will renew this question regularly.

Like i said leave your email address or if you want; we may even chat via yahoo.

In The Name of the Heavenly Creator: Amen.

Serious inquiries only please.

I CAN NOT RESPOND WITHOUT AN EMAIL ADDRESS OR SOMEWAY TO CONTACT YOU.

atheist extremist dont kill for religious reasons DUH? a bunch of atheists just used that as an excuse for joseph stalin's killing spree. extremist atheists then, kill for what? what did joseph stalin kill for? he was an atheist, and it WAS an atheist lead attrocitie. AND HE KILLED FOR POLITICAL REASONS. he didnt kill for God i think we all get it? and what did pol pot the atheist mass murderer kill for? TO EXTENGUISH RELIGION AND FOR POLITICAL REASONS. these were both atheist lead attrocities, and why is it so hard to accept atheists can be crazy as well? i admit there are some crazy christian extremist who bomb abortion clinics, so why can't you accept it the way it is? ATHEISM IS NOT THE ANSWER FOR WORLD PEACE.

my question is do you agree?
