A theory is nothing more than an opinion, and therefore, it is in need of proof. A fact however, can be proven. History tells us that there was a man named Jesus. This is a truth. His origin is at the crux of most religions. It is also truth that He rose in 3 days from his death. If you hold these truths to be self evident that there is a God, you gain everything. If history didn't happen, we wouldn't be here to lose everything.

Your logic is wrong. If your belief is not true, then you have spent your entire life deluded. But suppose you are right, and there is a God. Is your belief in him enough? According to some believers, it may be, but according to other believers, you have to do more than believe. If they are right, just believing isn't enough. And as many have answered before me apparently believe, your somewhat selfish motivation for believing in him might not be be considered good enough. So if they are right, you could end up in hell anyway.
Many religions claim that they are the only true religion, and if you believe in other religions, you can't be saved. So, by their logic, belief in God is not enough. Now you have to figure which of the many "one true religion"s to choose from, and you better choose correctly!
I think there is a much more sane belief system. I am an atheist in relationship to the Bible. From the evidence I have examined, the most plausible explanation for the Bible is that it was written by men based upon their myths and beliefs handed down to them since before we had written language. The God of Abraham is a myth.
Now, I said I am an atheist with respect to the God of the Bible. But I am an agnostic with respect to a simpler, broader definition of God: a supernatural creator who created the universe. I'm just as mind boggled as anyone that I am alive and living in this amzaing universe. It does seem miraculous that the universe exists, that we exist, that ANYTHING exists. I think it is totally natural for anyone pondering the miracle of our existence to think of it as the miracle of "creation", and then to anthopomorphize and begin thinking of a Creator. It's so natural to think that way that maybe its correct. But I have a problem with jumping to that conclusion, because it doesn't help answer the orignal mind boggling question: why does anything exist? If you say "because God created everything", then you're just begging the question: Why does God exist? Who created God?
So, I remain agnostic. And I make this consolation with myself; I have to believe that if a superintelligent supernatural being created this universe, she did so out of the joy of creation, and would not seek to set up a system in which she would torment any of her creation for all eternity because we had doubts about her exact nature.
So, I try to be an ethcial, loving person, and trust that if I live a good life then that is all this is required of me.

The Term Holy can very well be translated "wholly" or Complete.
Yes I believe there is a Holy God who created us due to our lack of wholeness without a relationship with Him.

we were created alright but not by Gods and they were anything but holy
it was the Anunaki who created the Adams race as slaves to mine gold for them in Zimbabwe(Zimbabwe means deep deposit),together with genes from the Nordics ,who were refugees from Mars before it got knocked out of Orbit,(the Nordics ,were blond or red haired with blue or green eyes ,the ancestors of the Aryan race)
Neanderthal.homo erectus,cro-magno,and the rest all lived at the same time and in the same place ,near the mines .which are the oldest mines in the world ,they were the genetic experiments ,before they got it right and created the Adams race(homo sapian)
the story of Adam was symbolic of the whole created race
over time the symbolism got lost and assumed a literal translation
some of these extraterrestrials were extremely advanced and could create matter out of light ,and cloning and genetic engineering was not the high light of their skills
their leader was nicknamed the creator
and this was carried on to this day in the religions
the Illuminati are descendants of the nephilim who were descendant's of the Nordics who bred with daughters of the created Earthlings(Genesis talks about this)
but still they were not Gods
the Illuminati have tried to maintain control of the subsequent human race for their own devious reasons of power and need for labor ,through the created organized religions, which was the Anunaki story and Pagan gods that were blended to form the present beliefs

perhaps i blieve in a god who created us. but if your christian god isnt holy according to the bible. God created evil.
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
and if he is 100% holy and pure, then how could he have ideas of what evil is, so either evil isnt actually evil but pure or god isnt actually holy but is a bit of both. God is also jelous, murderous and angry according to the bible (which are sins according to the bible as well) sooo i believe god created us, holy god tho i dont think so.
Analogy: (evil = orange; good = apple; seed = thought)
can an orange produce an apple seed? or an apple produce an orange seed? if you were to have an apple create an orange seed, then that apple would have to have some characteristics (genetic perhaps) of the orange.

Define "Holy God"- give him a form that is real - and then I can answer your question.
Until then, it's all gobbledygook. It's like walking up to a person on the street and asking, "Do you believe in blobbledeeblip?"
The rational, human response would be, "What is blobbledeeblip?"
If a child asks an adult, "What is a chair?"
Is it every acceptable to respond, "You just have to believe in chairs, honey"?
All children would be insane if the world were like that.
Looking around today, it gets crazier and crazier every year because we are leading children away from science and reason by begging them to believe, to have faith, in their parent's old ghosts.

No. You only believe in god because you have something to gain? Don't you think god is going to know that that's the only reason you believe in him?

I do not follow religions, but they teach us early in grade school energy can not be created or destroyed. There has to be a power that is outside of the 4 dimentions we know. Also, that means we never REALLY die. But again, I do not believe any particular religion.
