http://www.mountvernon.org/learn/collections/index.cfm/sss/22/cfid/2773444/cftoken/72483456 ......The Library holds approximately 500 documents in George Washington's hand, and the largest known assemblage of Martha Washington's letters, about 40 out of an existing 140. Although manuscripts written by George and Martha Washington are of primary importance to the Association, significant information also is communicated in documents written by estate managers, family members, neighbors, and visitors to Mount Vernon.

500 manuscripts? and we have 24,000 NT manuscripts today?

Tell me why you think George Washington lived, since you werent there and all...and tell me why you think Jesus Christ lived or not? thx :)

In Matthew 4:7 (NIV), Jesus tells Satan, "It is written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test'." But those who really know their Bible stories may be familiar with this scripture as well...

Malachi 3:10 (NIV), "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."

So my questions are:
1. Do you believe what Malachi 3:10 says about tithing? What is your take on this scripture.
2. What is tithing to you? Do you feel that tithing is more than monetary- meaning you give 10% of everything to God including your time? Or is tithing obsolete and/or does not apply to modern times?
3. Is tithing feasible in this day and age? Why or Why not?
4. Have you "tested" God? Do you tithe? If so, have you seen the blessings promised by God in Malachi 3:10.

It is difficult dometimes for me because I desire to have a closer walk with God. I go out on the weekends and have a good time too. I do not believe it to be a sin, have a couple beers with some friends. I do find though the Judgement of others. I want to get involved in my local church, but feel as though I would have to abandon some of these practices, because of what "people" would say. That is not fair, I am not being true to myself. or am I acting on my selfish desires. at what point do you make concessions to God for mankind's ignorance. I believe that within my heart my actions are not outside of the will of God. Do I wait for Man's heart to change, or make the unwanted sacfrice for Christ's blood...hmmm...think I answered my own question here!!

I was once lost. Just like you. Like a lot of you. I was born Christian, became an Atheist, converted to Islam, switched to Judaism, abandoned that and embraced Buddhism, converted back to Christianity, flip-flopped to Hinduism, left that for Voodooism, diverted to Sikhism, and now... I am finally at peace. I have discovered the greatest religion out there. Oprahism. Her works are far more sacred and lengthy than any other Holy text. Her O magazine, if compiled together, would stretch volumes. She is our Holy Mother. Her DNA can be found in all of us. She is the sole reason the Human race exists. Unlike other religions, modern science actually supports the integrity of Oprahism. Science has actually explained her numerous reincarnations and has photos to back it up. Looking at a picture from World War 2, we see a devastated and ruined town. In that photo, we can actually see Oprah, in the form that she is now, helping the injured bandage their wounds.

i'd be most greatful if someone could explain this experience to me. about a year ago, my wife and i were in a house that had been converted into an antiques shop. the whole time i was there, i felt as though something or someone didn't want me there, because i felt like something was sitting on my chest. i swear, i've never felt a pervasive sense of something evil in a house like i felt in that place. once i got out of the house, the feeling left, and i asked my wife if she'd felt it, and she said 'no'. i told her i was never going back in that place. what i didn't know at that time, but found out much later, was that a horrific double murder had taken place in that very house a few years back. the offender wasn't one of the ones that died. he's in prison for life. what did i feel in that house that didn't want me there? why did i feel it, and not my wife?

There's no evidence that Jesus existed. Only hear say. A fairy tale book(the bible) is not evidence. Also, it was written over 100 years after they claimed Jesus llived

Everyone knows how much evidence they have proving dinosaurs existed

Think about it for a moment please before you answer this with a jackass response, Jesus died for YOUR sins, whoever followed and believed in him, he died for christians essentially so that everytime you do something against your religion, you just need to ask your savior for forgiveness, and since he died on the cross for you, your saved. So those of you who are still stuck on Jews killed christ, think again. He was a Jew, a Rhabbi in fact. I just had to put this out there because Im so sick of the people who post rude questions like "Do Jews feel bad for killing christ?" Give it a rest.

I have a suggestion that I hope at least some will consider. These comments are made by people who, in the real world, are shunned and ignored for their ignorance and nastiness. They get no attention, and yet here (and I am guilty as anyone), we give them exactly what they crave. They want to incite anger, promote hatred, and they want attention. Let's stop giving it to them, shall we?!? Resist the urge to respond to the vile, hateful comments about your race, your country, your beliefs...just read the question, click on their name, report them (if applicable, and it usually is) and I for one will say a prayer for them. What you do is up to you.

I wish that comments and rational discussion would change their minds and enlighten their views, but they can only do that for themselves. In any case, today is the last day I waste my time and effort giving them the attention they crave and/or allowing them to anger me. Have a wonderful day!

It is a book that was undertaken by an atheist trying to prove to his Christian friends that they were completely misguided and that there is no historical evidence to support christianity.

I posted a previous question, and people were obsessed with their religion. They were saying that Christianity is the best. Unfortunately, you guys are the ones having sex before marriage and increasing the divorce rate everday. I am sorry, but you guys are the ones without love, morals nor a good relationship.

I have had 2 cool friends turn into pricks because of their stupidity. They say I am going to hell because I do not believe in Christ. Christianity has not even been around as long as my religion. Also, does the Bible tell Christians to convert people into their religion if they are already not a Christian? This brainwashing by primarily Christians ticks me off. Don't you people know that there are other religions out there?

Why can't Christians pray to women? Christians think that it's sacriligeous to pray to the Virgin Mary for instance. Isn't that denying femininity in Christian religion?
