I see this constantly on this board..the assumption that there is something like an organized athiest beleif system.

Simply put an athiest is someone who does not beleive in a God or Gods. That's it there is nothing more. No ritual, not dogma, no. organization, no book, no code You take two atheiest and the only thing in common between them is that they do not beleive in deities.

They do not beleive in a personified entity or entities that either created the universe or has some sort of control over them.

Athiest do beleive in higher powers, forces, and energies that influence their lives and existance but they do not personify them and lump them all into one or more deities.

Athiest do beleive in morals, ethics, and social behavior but not because some Deity tells them that they should.

Recently answered a question about masochism in relation to hell, and was wondering... what do you believe they're like?

Typically, hell is depicted as fiery, painful, evil.
Heaven, as pure, pleasurable, innocent.

But... isn't heaven a reward and hell a punishment?

So therefore, if people in heaven find sex pleasurable, would they be denied it due to the pure nature of heaven?
or if people in hell were masochists, would they be denied pain (which some believe is a part of hell) because it gives them pleasure?

I'd love to hear your opinions; I'll elaborate on my own opinions in a detail at a later time.

Thank you, ahead of time, for responding to this touchy subject, as some believe religion & politics are the two subjects that should not be discussed to avoid conflict.

If you say "God is good", you're going to hell for lying on God. That's blasphemy

God Will Kill Ethiopia

"You Ethiopians will also be slaughtered by my sword," says the LORD. And the LORD will strike the lands of the north with his fist. He will destroy Assyria and make its great capital, Nineveh, a desolate wasteland, parched like a desert. The city that once was so proud will become a pasture for sheep and cattle. All sorts of wild animals will settle there. Owls of many kinds will live among the ruins of its palaces, hooting from the gaping windows. Rubble will block all the doorways, and the cedar paneling will lie open to the wind and weather. This is the fate of that boisterous city, once so secure. "In all the world there is no city as great as I," it boasted. But now, look how it has become an utter ruin, a place where animals live! Everyone passing that way will laugh in derision or shake a defiant fist. (Zephaniah 2:12-15 NLT)

How about some statistical analysis? What kinds of questions are being asked by what kinds of people? What kinds of answers are being given? What categories would you use to analyse this religion and spiritality forum? Off the top answers are welcome too but I'm really looking for a studied statistical analysis of some size. Give the size of your study.

Um, i have an extremely urgent prayer request and i was wondering if you guys could pray for it. The son of a lifelong family friend is suffering from Chron's disease. He is very sick and close to death as his hemoglobin has been reduced to 5%. She has asked if we would pray for him. His name is Stefan. Please pray that, if it is God's will, that he would be healed and that the family would trust in you.

he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time. (2 samuel 23:8)

How do you kill 800 people with one spear? Sounds pretty far fetched to me, like maybe the bible is full of crap.
