From a personal stand point, the church of jesus christ of latter day saints has torn my family apart. My father is a true christian that belives in christ only, and was split from the entire family on his side because he wasn't a mormon. It is a faith based on the teachings of a false prophet, Joseph Smith, whom was tried and sentenced to death in Nauvoo, IL. In his prophetic teachings, he proclaimed that an angel came to him and told him of christ visiting the north american continent after his death in isreal. These supposed stories were written on golden plates. These plates have never been brought forth by the church, and they are a murdering group of incestrial idiots! When we drove the mormons from IL they went westward. Their leader was Brigham Young. He promised his people a new land to create their kingdom. When they finally settled in their new home, the now territory of Utah, other settlers tried to settle there too. An entire army of mormons murdered the settlers, execution style, and enslaved their children, eventually murdering them as well.

Mormons are into some seriously weird stuff. Many Christians do not consider Mormons to be True (tm) Christians, even though they believe in Christ and all that. The Book of Mormon is even crazier than the Old Testament, and the Church has gone through some really strange changes over the last hundred years.
Posthumous baptisms, permanent undergarments, golden plates, no alcohol or caffeine (two substances proven healthy if used correctly), formerly had polygamy but abandonded it in order to fit into American society. Look into it very closely if you're thinking of joining.

Sure.
The LDS, or Mormons, are bigtime missionaries. They believe that their original leader, Joseph Smith, is a modern-day prophet who got a new gospel (the Book of Mormon, link below) delivered to him on gold pages which he transcribed in a few days.
These are the folks who migrated across the United States and settled what is now Utah. They have a history of polygamy, which has been outlawed and most of them don't practice it any more. They are the world's best geneaology researchers, with extensive records for lots of people, even non-Mormons.
They send fresh-faced young men of ages 19-22 all over the world as missionaries and are fairly conservative.

They are a Christian religon who believe in the Bible. They also believe in the Book of Mormon which is accounts of what was going on in the Americas early on. They do not believe in drinking alcohol, and suggest that you don't drink a lot much caffeine (it's not forbidden as some will tell you). There are over 12 million members in the world, and they are the 4th largest church. You can e-mail me if you have any questions.

The Mormons are a lot like any other religion. They have some beliefs that can't be disproved, so you go to their church and listen to their fables and decide if you want to dedicate yourself to an afterlife with them that may or may not exist.
Oh, and after you die good Mormon men get lots of wives and become gods, a lot like the Islamic religion. No wonder women have no power in the Mormon church (they believe only men can have conversations with God).
Nice.

Sure! Here are the 13 Articles of Faith which would cover some of the basics:
1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, repentance; third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11. We claim the privilege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
In addition, contrary to what a couple of people here have said, women DEFINITELY have the right to get answers to prayer from God as well. Also, the standard of the Lord is that one man has one wife. The only time there has ever been an exception to that in the Church was for a period of about 50 years in the 19th Century, when polygamy was practiced as a temporary principle, and it was ended in 1890 by President Wilford Woodruff. Anyone trying to practice polygamy today is not doing it with the approval of the Church, and those people are not associated with the true Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Hope that helps. Have a happy day!

They brainwash their followers, if a psychologist where witnessing the techniques they use to teach you about their gospel they would say it's a form of hypnotism.
