Or does the Bible tell us otherwise?

I have noticed with many christians, christian videos and preachers/teachers this common theme off trying to convince christians that an 'atheist' is really an 'agnostic'. Its seems to be the first order of business when discussing 'atheism'. if you have noticed this also, in your view, what is the agenda behind this 'redifinition'?
I would say i am an atheist, I am without belief in god/s.I was once a christian for many years, but never had this problem with the words atheist and agnostic. But christians seem to take strong issue with the word 'atheist' nowa days, and try and convince me i am really an agnostic? Whats the 'hidden' purpose of this?
or another way of asking it is, Why the focus for christians on this simple word?
I hope i explained myself clearly enough :)
'christians' feel free to answer

Why does everyone claim they love jesus' but dont keep his commandments but sin willfully, and make a mock at sin, asking to God to forgive them after they curse someone out or just finish fornicating? why do we treat the Lord with such disrespect...Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? and if the righteous scarecely make it...where shall the sinner and ungodly be?

What if there was a cosmology that:

Agreed with all scientific observations and went further by providing a true unified theory - the long sought "Holy Grail" of physics

Agreed with the fundamental message of all major religions

Provided logical answers to the great mysteries of why we are here, why is there suffering, where are we going, etc.

Was completely internally consistent with no philosophical contradictions

Showed the path to lasting world peace by simply changing one fundamental belief about ourselves

Such a cosmology does in fact exist, and I would be happy to provide research suggestions for those interested.

The question is, regardless of whether you are an atheist, Christian, Muslim, Jewish or whatever, are you open minded and rational enough to change your belief system or have your beliefs become your dogma?

Many base the rapture on 1 Thes 4:16-17. But they forget to carry the subject in verse 13.
They also forget that the book of 2 Thes was written because the Thessalonians misunderstood the first book. Consider this:
2 Thessalonians 2:3”Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” Did you catch the subject of this verse: “that day shall not come”. Keep this in mind.
The “…falling away first…” is when the devil is cast out of Heaven and onto Earth.
The “man of sin”, “the son of perdition” is the devil. Also, “…and that man of sin be revealed…” The devil comes looking like Jesus, but has a voice of a dragon (Rev 13:11).
The devil must be revealed first before Jesus come. The false Jesus (devil) must be proven wrong.
Think about it.
Please don't give stupid answers, or attack this question. If you can't answer this question maturely than don't answer.

Should the US help the Sunnis destroy the Shiites? After all generally speaking the Sunnis do seem more peaceful and their hatred of each other can lead to better relations between the west and the Sunni world.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the women to have multiple husbands? Logically this would make more sense. Beyond that wouldn't it be better to have children bear the mothers name? As is my experience, women are far less likely to leave the child then the man, and as far as the multiple marriage issue, women are harder to satisfy physically, so multiple spouse's for them would make more sense. Given of course that we are no longer in a position where a man laying his "seed" everywhere to assure continuation of the species is necessary. Thoughts? (I'm sure this will be a good one)

Unfortunately, there is the idea in American Christianity (and by this, I don't mean all christians in america) that salvation is a "free pass" to sin like a devil and expect to avoid hell. That is by no means biblical. Atheists, if you see a Christian continuing in a perpetual pattern of willful sin against God's laws, you have good reason to doubt their faith.

Saving faith is born out of a God-given desire to prefer satisfaction in God and all He offers us over the fleeting pleasures of sin and the world. A heaven without God would not be heaven. What makes heaven a desireable place is that it is where God is.

The very faith that justifies us before God is the same faith that assures sanctification (progression towards holiness). The book of James is clear about this, in saying that faith without works is dead faith. Works are not a means to salvation, but they are an evidence.

Seek God because He is the only all-satisfying being in the universe.
