To the contrary... it is the Sunnis who operate the madrasas, which are primarily focused on turning out brainwashed terrorist fanatics, who want nothing more than to blow themselves up amidst some 'infidels'. Al Quaida and the Taliban are primarily Sunni oriented. No, it is best to just let them destroy each other... then clean up remaining mess.

For the most part, the Sunnis are peaceful, towards the Shiites, and to the US. They know how much the US has done for their country, yet they have a loyalty to Islam, if for no other reason, fear of being an outcast if they make a public conversion of some sort.

It is not 'Golden' to destroy any religion. It goes against the basic beliefs of the Americans. Religious wars are among the worst kind of wars. Religious and civil wars create long lasting animosities, as is clear from the struggle in the Middle East.
Even a nation purported to be a 'superpower' could not destroy the Shiite beliefs. And that is what is powering this tragedy: Belief.
:-] What we need is a softening of the human heart, not a new sea of glass in the Middle East.

We are still outsiders to them. Any help in that regard will be thanked today, but used to stir hatred against us tomorrow. As proof, I give you America's involvement to assist Croatians during the Yugoslavian war. Despite the US assisting the Muslim-based Croatians, you don't ever hear anyone saying "Good job, America!", instead it is always ignored and never used as a positive influence in Islam thinking. They'd rather think of the negative implications of US involvement with Israel and Palestinians.

Gosh, you're as bad as the Radical Islamists- so I'll tell you what I would tell them: You can't kill them all, even if you think it's right. People are much more resilient than Passenger Pigeons.
Perhaps this could your golden opportunity to learn some compassion for other people?

No, That would be like having the Baptist distroying the Mormons. Theise sects need to learn to live together, and the US has no right to interfear with the interwars, only the groups who attack them.

90% of the the world's muslims are sunni.
even so, it's not right to pick a side in this...shi'ites are are not bad just because they're shi'ites. there happens to be a few bad apples spoiling the bunch. if we go after specific people, we don't have to go after a whole sect...that'd be paramount to genocide.

Western society is better than eastern society because we try to uphold certain moral standards (unfortunately we often fail). Genocide is against these standards.
