a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

Also, Jerusalem's Chief Rabbinate, Monday, called for world wide prayer on behalf of Israel to begin on Tuesday. Psalms 83 was one of the texts given to pray. Do you agree with me that finding the old Psalms about the same time is God's confirmation for us to pray Psalms 83 & claim it?

Moses hits the ball into the water hazard and looking at Jesus says "I wonder if I've still got it?" Jesus bemused just shrugs his shoulders while Moses raises his driving iron to the sky and parts the hazard, allowing him to play through.
Jesus hits his ball. It skips out into the same water hazard and lands on a lilly pad. Jesus looks at Moses and says "Hey, I wonder if I've still got it?" and Moses offers the same shrug in return.
Jesus walks to the edge of the water hazard, takes two steps on the water and falls in. Moses falls on the green laughing. Jesus does it again, and once again Moses is on the green laughing. Jesus stands up turns to Moses and angrily shouts
"Shut up, I didn't have these holes in my feet the last time I did this." Any one ever heard that one?

Evolution is a theory. The concept of an atom is theoretical. Most of science is based on ideas that are 99% likely, but not proven 100%. My question is simple: Why is the theory of evolution so controversial, but atomic theory is unquestioned?

If for whatever reason you feel that it is necessary to use a biblical quote or say that the Bible said something, please provide evidence that the Bible is true. After all, there are fossils to support evolution, but evolution is questioned by many. Therefore, for creationism to be true, there has to be some evidence to verify the Bible.

One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had
come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one
scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him.

The scientist walked up to God and said, "God, we've decided that we
no longer need you. We're to the point that we can clone people and
do many miraculous things, so why don't you just go on and get lost."

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man and after the
scientist was done talking, God said, "Very well, how about this,
let's say we have a man making contest." To which the scientist
replied, "OK, great!"

But God added, "Now, we're going to do this just like I did back in
the old days with Adam."

The scientist said, "Sure, no problem" and bent down and grabbed
himself a handful of dirt.

God just looked at him and said, "No, no, no. You go get your own
dirt!"

First, anyone can post anything, only those answers that follow the rules have a chance at Best Answer.

Second, "God works in mysterious ways" and similar answers are null statements. They are equivalent to saying "I don't know" and thus eliminate themselves from the contest.

Third, contending answers must stipulate the following:
1. The God of the OT is the same God of the NT.
2. That God is a God of love and infinite mercy.
3. That God is a family-values kind of God. He hates the shedding of innocent blood and loves little kids.
4. God hates the sin but loves the sinner, sacrificing His only Son for the sins of the world, etc.

Rules are clear?

All you have to do is explain why God did what he did in a selected verse, and why you approve of His choice.

Here's another old favourite of mine: Leviticus 20:9
Seems that if my son were to curse me ("G*d damn you, Dad."), God would want my son "put to death". Does the ultimate 'time-out' seem reasonable to you?

Jewish & Christians Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allâh (Alone), and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allâh.

christians why denying God evidences and u r witnessing it's true. and God is witness on what's in ur heart. christians why mixing the truth with false, and hide the truth while u r aware of it?

christians Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allâh aught but the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary was no more than a Messenger of Allâh and His Word Be! - and it will be which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him; so believe in Allâh and His Messengers. Say not: "Three trinity!" it is better for you. For Allâh is (the only) One God. Glory be to Him above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.

christians a prophet came to u to clear to u many things hiding in ur scriptures.

For many belief systems the creation of sacred space is important. Pagans cast circles and use sacred tools. The Orthodox Churches have temples gilded with gold. Islam has mosques where the word Allah is used to make beautiful patterns. Catholics cross themselves as they enter church. I grew up in a Baptist Church. Everyone dressed for Church and folks acted with reverence in the Sanctuary.

Recently my wife started looking for a new church. Many churches are in old store fronts, movie theaters, or resemble office parks. They have espresso bars. For $3 you can sip a latte during the service. Services are stacked on top of each other so you get herded in and out. People mill around noisily outside the auditorium. The music and plays are very polished. But, it seems like going to a show, and not an encounter with the sacred.

Is the post modern protestant church in the United States losing something important? Is creating sacred space an important part of your worship?
