One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had
come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one
scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him.

The scientist walked up to God and said, "God, we've decided that we
no longer need you. We're to the point that we can clone people and
do many miraculous things, so why don't you just go on and get lost."

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man and after the
scientist was done talking, God said, "Very well, how about this,
let's say we have a man making contest." To which the scientist
replied, "OK, great!"

But God added, "Now, we're going to do this just like I did back in
the old days with Adam."

The scientist said, "Sure, no problem" and bent down and grabbed
himself a handful of dirt.

God just looked at him and said, "No, no, no. You go get your own
dirt!"

Good one!

Man will eventually destroy himself with his own knowledge.
God never did destroy the world with a flood.
Man did. They threw some bombs that tilted the earth off its axis and started the humidity going and the rain began to fall.

God just let it happen because He knew it was going to happen anyway. He told Noah "Get that ark ready because it's going to rain"

And the next time they throw a bunch of bombs at the same time, the earth won't be able to take it and it will
throw everything backwards again but it will start the earth
flying towards the Sun.....

Man will destroy himself.

Standard contrivance where god is the wise/master hero against the atheist/scientist who delivers the final, clever, logical response that outwits the opponent. This is standard ego stuff that is projected onto god; unconditional love is beyond all this but we humans like the whole 'us versus them' stuff.

Yes I've heard it. It was used to explain that man can only work within the restraints of creation and that God is outside and not limited.

funny, but yet passive aggressive Christian BS. I'm sorry but true. You must understand that the idea isn't severing god from our lives, but that things exist without him and that he was entirely unneeded from the beginning.
