When you judge someone do you exclude them because god said so? Or are you closed minded and have no opinons of your own? Why hate someone and say that they are evil if killing in the name of god is evil? It is a sin and even if you confess or accept jesus into your heart you are not really being truthful to god.

Ok, I am a catholic and am thinking of converting to Lutheran so my girlfriend and I can live our life happily together and raise our future kids with a solid base. I was wondering what is the difference between the two religions. How does one go about converting to be a lutheran. Any advice? Thanks!

Matt. 12 :1-6At that time Jesus went on the sabbath through the grainfields, and His disciples became hungry and began to pick heads of grain and eat, But when the pharisees saw it, they said to Him, "Behold Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath.' But He said to them 'have you not read what david did, when he became hungry, he and his companions; how he entered the house of God, and they ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests alone? or have you not read the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath, and are innocent?'

Matt 15: 2-3. Why do Your disciples trangress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.' And he answered and said to them, "And why do you yourselves trangress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?.......19-20 For out of the heart come evil throughts, murders, adultereries, fornications, thefts, false

"The just shall live by faith...the evidence of things not seen...without faith it is impossible to please Him (God)." (Romans 11:17, Hebrews 11:1,6) The life of faith seems vital for a Christian, but how can we be sure that we're not just wearing the label?

I have such a hard time reading questions and replies to questions pertaining to Christianity on here. People think that Christians are evil, hateful and just plain mean. But when they reply to religious questions the non-Christians are the ones that spout hatred and violence. I am a Christian and I am also a sinner, and I am not condemning or judgemental towards non-Christians, but I do try to be educational and guiding when I can. I think if I didn't try to help others then I would be a hypocrite. If I honestly think non-Christians are going to hell and I sit and do nothing, then what kind of a Christian does that make me?
I know that there are people who don't want to hear about Christianity, but then why are they on here trying to convince others that we are so bad.
I do not claim to be perfect, and I do not have answers for everything. I sin every day, so I don't think I live some perfect Christian life. The one thing I have done is become saved.

Hebrews 8:6-7
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

I am a new user of Yahoo! Answers. I just posted my first question today, and in a matter of minutes was overwhelmed with answers. Sara, Samantha, Alwin... I want to thank each one of you for your lovely answers.
At the same time, another question arose.
Evil and violence manifests itself in the ways we see around us: war, crime, cheating, etc.
Why do we not see / hear of goodness showing itself? A smile to a stranger, a few kind words, patient listening to the distressed, some timely help to the needy...
What we could do is limited only by our imaginations. One good deed could trigger another, and soon we might be flooded with enthusiasm.
(This is not my wishful thinking and actually might be possible. "One good deed deserves another", is not my line.)

Can't such positive acts counter the prevalent gloomy atmosphere spread by violence and acts of terror?

Looking forward to your thoughts.

As weird as this question may sound, were they fallen angels or not ? Why was Jesus so mad at them calling them hypocrites, generation of vipers, fools even. Did Jesus not say not to call any human a fool ? Were the pharisees then non-human ? Were they the fallen angels from Genesis 6:4 that took wifes and cohabitated with them ? This would explain why Jesus, on one hand promoted the idea to love thy neighbour, but on the other, was extrimely mad at those pharisees.

First you believe in the books. Thus Your faith is in the men who compiled the books. Next in men who edited books. And so on long before you even hear or see the words of the books.

what about identical twins, which are not separated until long after conception. Do they have to split a soul. On that same note, what about conjoined twins. They are only separated after birth. Are they sharing a soul, or does one not have a soul?

It almost seems as if the soul could be another man-made idea...
