Superstitious nonsense. That's what it means to me anyway.

First, I need to point out that taking a single scripture passage without taking into account everything else the Bible has to say about any given subject is spiritual suicide.
I would like to bring into the picture Philippians 2:6-9, which I'll summarize here (you can look it up and see that my summary fits with the actual text): Jesus Christ was in the form of God, and di not think it was wrong to claim equality with God. But He humbled Himself and took on the form of a man; and as a man, he humbled Himself more, even to the point of death - the death on the cross (which was considered a curse).
Now, to the passage you are asking about: when Jesus became man, we was lower than the angels, seeing as how he became a man, because as God, he could not suffer and die, but and I quote, "we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels FOR THE (SAKE OF) suffering of death ... that he ... should taste death for every man"
So, what it's saying is that he had to become lower than the angels by becoming a man, and in that way he could suffer and taste death for the rest of us.

Since angels cannot die, Jesus was literally "made lower than the angels" by taking on the form of a mortal human being (who could die).
The statement of "tasting death for every man" implies that Jesus paid the penalty for all of our sin (I.E.: the payment for sin is death).
Crowned with glory obviously refers to the fact that Jesus is now seated in Heaven as the ruler of the universe.

It means that God the Son came to the earth and was made into human form, a little lower than the angels, and was killed, rose again, went back to heaven where He was crowned with glory and honour, so that He could take the punishment of our sins (death) upon Himself so that we can have the choice of eternal life.
Praise God He loved us so much to do that for us!

Jesus had a prehuman existance. He gave up that heavenly life to come to the earth, be lower than the angels, suffer death, then when he was resurrected, he was crowned w/ glory....he "tasted"death in that he died for our sins so that we can have a chance to live forever, like God intended in the Garden of Eden.

There is another verse in the bible that says through the disobedience of one man (Adam) all fell, so through the obedience of one man (Jesus) shall many be saved.
Jesus died so that we may live. Those who believe in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. His death was awful, suffering upon a cross....but now, yes, He has been crowned with glory and honor, and one day will come again, to rule and reign on earth.

It means what it said.
Man is a little below or not as full measure as and angle.
You could do a little research on angles and what makes them a little more then man.
Christ was created at the first as a man but don't let that fool you, he was created as the witness of God, and the Word of God.
Here is wisdom
Christ was created and existed with God in heaven (and on earth) tell the hour of his birth when he became (like the rest of us) Flesh. To live and die for us.
He now sits at the right hand of God and IS KING of the earth and ruler over all the earth forever.
And last Christ will sit in the mercy seat of God.

Simple, he was made lower than the angels much like humans.
So that he can be our perfect example on how to do God perfect will. He was made lower than the angels so that he can experience all the same feeling we do with also included death.
Jesus was the scarified lamb of God.

This is taken a little out of context, but it means that Jesus was all man and all God. He, through his suffering we were all saved, and we can all know God. Jesus took our place in death, and for this he is honored above all and sits at the right hand of God. This part of Hebrews is talking about the humanity of Christ, how he was made like his brothers. 2:11 says that "Both those who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers". Jesus was made human because as it says in 2:16-17 "for surely it is not the angels [Jesus] helps but Abraham's decendants. For this reason he had to made like his brothers in everyway, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high preist in service to God and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people." Jesus is like a High priest, because back then the high preist was responsible for the sins of all the people, if the high priest sinned, so did all the people, and if all of the people sinned, so did the priest in the eyes of others. At the end of the year the high preist offered a sacrifice for his owns sins and for the sins of the poeple.
Jesus also did this, but because he never sinned on earth (he was after all ALL God and ALL human) he only had to make a sacrifice for us, which was himself.
So basically this means that Jesus had to made human to save humans, he suffered for all of us, and now he sits at the right hand of God.
I hope that helped your understanding, and I also hope you finish reading the rest of Hebrews...its a good one.

He was made lower because he was placed in a flesh body, which is lower than the spiritual body of the angels. He had to come in the flesh to taste death, and pay a ransom sacrifice for us all.

Jesus was made lower than the angels when he took on human form. He temporarily put off his diety in order to be the "sacrificial lamb" free from spot or blemish. Jesus became death on the cross. Death is being seperated from God it is not ceasing to exist. That is why Jesus said "My God why have you forsaken me?"
