Yes, everyone is descended from Adam and Eve.

As far as Melchisedec goes, the Jews kept meticulous geneological records. So it's not that he didn't have mother/father etc. It's that there was no record of it. Who was who was very important to them.

Being a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was and is important to them/us . . . (I'm Jewish too). But what tribe is important too. No King could descend from any tribe but Judah, and you had to have Levi genes to be a priest.

They also took stock of gentile lineage. It was better to be a Descendant of Japheth than Ham or Cainan, etc.

Because it was not known who Melchisedec descended from, he was King of Salem (peace) and he blessed Abraham who tithed to him, Paul is making the case that Mel is greater than Abraham (there is nobody greater than Abraham to Jews, Abraham's status is recognized as being the friend of God! How do you get better than that!).

So Christ is our high priest, not after the priesthood of those descended from Abraham, but after the order of Melchisedec. One greater than Abraham.

It is speculated by some, that Melchisedec was Shem, the son of Noah. It doesn't matter, though. Abraham recognized him as an elder to whom he tithed in faith as one greater than himself. That's enough to make Paul's argument credible.

By the way, Melchisedec is a title, not a name. It means King of Righteousness.

Yes, we are all descended from Adam and Eve. The writer of Hebrews was just making a comparison.

Hebrews is not saying that Melchisedec literally had no father & mother, just that his lineage is unknown. I noticed that you didn't copy all of the relevant passage.

Don't you have better things to do, like work, perhaps?

Since most people on here seem to be saying 'no' to this question, is there another version of creation that I don't know about?!!! I believe the Bible states that"God created Man in His image" and so far I know that to be Adam & Eve, apparently from whom we all started.

"Did anybody descend from Adam and Eve (in accordance to the previous testomony)?" specific. "case in point, i comprehend they had 3 sons indexed, Cain, Abel, and Seth." not real. The sort of childrens is on no account concentrated in the Bible. "Who did they have intercourse with to create the subsequent era?" Sisters or cousins. the biggest to each little thing is Genesis 5:4. Objections: a million) this may well be incest. No. The rules on incest weren't given till the Mosaic regulation grew to become into given to the Israelites approximately 1500 BCE. earlier that, brother and sister marriage grew to become into allowed. basically, Abraham married his 0.5 sister Sarah. Adam and Eve might have been created in a pristine situation. they'd not have had any genetic defects like all of us have on the instant. via the time of the Mosaic regulation, sufficient genetic defects had entered the human inhabitants to warrant regulations on marriage to close kin. 2) yet Cain have been given his spouse in the Land of Nod. The Bible on no account says that. All it says is that Cain had kin along with his spouse that produced a infant after he entered the Land of Nod. The Bible additionally shows that the Land of Nod did not exist already, yet grew to become the Land of Nod (Wandering/Fugitiveness) in elementary terms after Cain the wanderer arrived there. it fairly is a worry-loose false impression in line with English translations that lack precision.

Actually the Bible would like you to believe that everyone is descended from Noah and his 3 sons and their wives, who were descendants of Adam and Eve.

NO

Adam & Eve was a story created by primitives to try and explain what was unexplainable at the time: the origin of man.

Same goes for the whole bible and the whole religion. All religions, for that matter.
