I am one of those people who does not choose God as my Higher Power. I believe more in Fate & Karma. If you do good things, you get good things. I have 2 1/2 years sober and I don't use God like others do. What got me to this point today is seeing and believing that the Program works. I do what is suggested by people who work their program. It works for them, and it works for me.

Why would you want to? A male deity who insists he's the only one and kills those who don't accept it right away? Read 'The Jesus Mysteries' It describes different religions and how they're similiar and it lists the differences too. Very educational and has a positive kind of energy. I thought it would be hateful and very anti-xtian but it seems to focus mostly on describing Gnostic Christianbity, which was a lot more tolerant and loving

The experience of God (enlightenment) is universal - and it's been had by people of no religion and people of all religions (e.g. Meister Eckhart and St. John of the Cross seem to have had it and they're christians, Rumi seemed to have it & he was muslim, Buddha had it, etc.). Maybe look into Zen Buddhism (e.g. read '3 Pillars of Zen') or 'A Course in Miracles' (this uses christian language but it changes the meaning of the terms to present zen-like concepts).

According to Christ, He is the only way to really find God )"no one can come to the Father except through Me"). There are other ways to see God by seeing His hand in nature (Romans 1-2). However, true communion with & reconciliation to God only comes through the new life brought about through Christ's work on the cross applied to us individually through the Holy Spirit (the book of Romans explains this in greater detail). I pray you will find what you're looking for.

I don't know if you want to hear from me, but I don't think I understand.

Why do you want to know God if you don't want to praise Him or thank Him or love and be loved by Him? Religion helps us to learn about God and be closer to Him.

Otherwise I could just say, look up into the sky--but would you see Him? Open your heart ALL THE WAY. He will come in.

Go within yourself and you will find the answers or be led to the answers you need. Everyone is taught to look to external sources for truth, but truth lies within one's self.

You can't. Unless your Jewish. Any other God and you might as well spit in the wind. Or talk to a stone.
