All life is said to have evolved from unicelluar organism
which are nothing but a bunch of chemicals put in a particular pattern.

If these chemicals could be put together in the required pattern by the forces of nature etc. etc., and evolved from there to become man,
then why not other chemicals and elements be put together to form a Mercedez Benz?

John 1 clearly said He is the word of God....Not God…… All thru Johns Gospel Jesus always said his father is greater them Him....God sent him... Jesus has life because of the father...and in another Gospel he said the Lord God is one

The only time he gave inference as he was
God is when Phillip said show us the Father and Jesus said the Father in him and he in the Father...

other then that no were ever in the bible has Jesus said He was God..

could our leaders be the false, teacher, prophets..considering they are over riding a lot of what Jesus really said..to their way of thinking..

you must remember during the beginning of church leaders since Christ I would have been killed for what I am saying now...

and this would not be brought up again....so Jesus never said he was God...our leaders say he is God…. Christians do you choose Jesus or your leaders

So is Jesus God

One frequent claim is that biologists believe evolution happens by random chance. They don't. They think that species adapt through a process called natural selection. For example, the idea that a complex structure could arise spontaneously by chance is equivalent to throwing 100 coins in the air and expecting them all to come up heads. There is only about one chance in 10^30 of this happening. Why would creationists say that any scientist could possibly believe in something so preposterous? Instead, biologists think like this: Throw 100 coins as before. Now pick up the tails (usually about 50) and throw them again. Pick up the remaining tails and throw again. In less than 10 throws, all 100 coins will come up heads! All it took was random chance, selection, and repetition. So randomness is not what drives evolution in a certain direction (like, towards more complexity); it is NATURAL SELECTION that's in the driver's seat.

OK, I just have to ask this. I repeatedly read that Atheist are scared. So question 1 How do you know I'm scared ? You don't know me! I'm Mrs or Ms or even Mr X in X state. So whatever I say here has little chance of backfiring on me, therefore 2 Why would I be scared? 3 What would I be scared of? You? Your god? Your hell? I don't believe in it, therefore I don't have to worry about it. Now the dentist is a different story :o) And I like the Dude. Scared of dying? Oh yes I am. I want to see my kids grow up and live life as long as possible. So anyone out there saying they are not afraid of loosing live is either lying, suicidal or an adrenalin junky. I meet a terminal ill woman once that wasn't scared of death. She said she lived her live well. No preaching about god, I don't even Know if she believed. So That's my purpose in live, get where she was at I've never seen peace like that. So, some of you Christians out there please stop thinking for me, or feeling sorry for me.

Job 16:21
that he would argue the case of a man with God, asa son of man does with his neighbor. Job 25:6 how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm!”

Psalm 144:3 (Show me Psalm 144)
O Lord, what is man that you regard him, or the son of man that you think of him?
Psalm 146:3 (Show me Psalm 146)
Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. Isaiah 51:12“I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass,
Ezekiel 2:3
And he said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the people of Israel, to nations of rebels, who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day.Matthew 11:19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”....

Can anyone who believes we were designed by a god please explain why my arms, wrists, hands and fingers have the same bone structure as my legs, ankles, feet, and toes? This design doesn't seem to be ideal for either walking or writing email, and I've suffered from both carpal tunnel and sprained ankles because of it. Darwinian evolution has a simple and obvious explanation. Our ancestors once used their forelimbs and hind limbs for the same purposes (climbing and grasping) but later generations adapted them to different purposes (running and making tools). But what purpose could a creator have had in giving us the same limb "design" as other primates?

I do believe in spirits, angels, but not ones exactly that are like Casper or any scary movies. I don't understand why almost everyone I know believes places can actually be haunted like you see or read in scary movies/stories. It presents an unneeded fear. And I just don't understand where they get it from? One of my friends is actually scared to come to my house because I live next to a graveyard. She also believed one time when her and her church went snowboarding their hotel was haunted, because she swears the clock moved backward, and she says that her friend can sense ghosts. Isn't believing in this stuff (especially the fear) just mostly something we actually enjoy, rather than sincerely believe? Because it is thrilling to believe a real place is actually haunted?

I am a college student who is very interested in mathematics and the world around me. I have a series of favorite movies called "The Cube". In one of the serious it brings up the question of a 4th dimension. I then did some research into the 4th dimension and found some pretty fasinating information. But some of the material kind of crossed paths with what I have learned as a christian. Like the big bang, many of those scientific theories. I dont believe in those theories at all. I believe that God created the beginning. But who is to say that God hasn't told us everything in the bible, what if some of the scientific theories are correct but God just hasn't shinned light on those subjects. Im just wondering if its sinful to just think and theorize about these topics, or is it just part of the human condition and God doesn't find it sinful. Thank you.

He was a wonderful priest, the best I ever knew. He died last Monday and if you ever heard met him you understand how blessed we are. I think he forever helped me strengthened my faith. He was always brave and confident, and focused on a person's soul rather than their exterior labels. He hated using words such as Iiberal, conservative, democrat, republican, gay, straight, proabortion, antiabortion, etc. etc. Because they single out the real person. He was a special Catholic priest who was sometimes quite controversal because he spoke out against war from the pulpit, even singled out the Bush administration, and because he didn't take every word of the Bible literally. Last week, he talked about his fear that his brother priests have become "a remote bunch- afraid to be human, afraid to offend."
But that wasn't his Big Message.
His last words were this,
"The quality of unconditional love is, to me, Divine Life," he said.
He sincerely reminded me what life is really about.

21 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, saying, ‘I will entice him.’ 22 And the Lord said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said, ‘You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’ 23 Now therefore behold, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; the Lord has declared disaster for you.”

You're trying your best to prove he exist

All he has to do is show up. He could save you a lot of work

If God would just get up off of his *** and let us see him, It would solve all the religious problems in the world

Dont try to defend your skydaddy because there is no excuse

I dont want to here this bullshit about the trees are proof or something stupid like that

If your boyfriend stood you up, would you defend him and you dont even know why he did it?

Should a person be blamed for not having strong religious beliefs if they were never taught such things as a child?

Many people are baptised as babies, but that's as far as their religious journey takes them (like your's truly).

I understand, that as an adult I am responsible for myself now and could easily educate myself. But I've embraced the "scientific" culture, I suppose.

I was just wondering what you think.

Cheers!
