Throughout history, arranged marriages have been the rule, not the exception, in most societies. Arranged marriages were the norm in Western nations in centuries past. Today, arranged marriages are rare, as our society has developed a complex courtship/dating process whereby individuals self-select their mates.

Is it any coincidence that the divorce rate is at or near 50%?

The ways of man are foolish.

Why, then, do we insist on making faith in God a personal choice? Why do we need to try God out, kick the tires, give faith a test drive? Do we really think that we can discern the divine?

We have to remember Socrates's maxim: we are wise when we admit to ourselves the depths of our ignorance - when we know that we do not know.

Do you think you know a PERSON based on what they say to you or what you see them do?

In regard to the marriage thing, you have to have sex if you get married. Part of a marriage is being physically attracted to a person, so you really shouldn't pick a God the same way you pick a spouse.

But, let's put aside the physical for a minute. How well should you know someone mentally and emotionally? What is the minimum or maximum requirement to "know" someone before you marry them?

Most people date for 6-9 months before getting engaged. In a serious relationship, you probably TALK to each other 30 minutes a day on average. Since there are two people, each person talks about 15 minutes a day and the other person talks about 15 minutes of that time per day.
(PS - you don't count the time you spend simply sitting and watching TV or movies together or shoving food in your mouth together. Even if that's a date, it's not communicating.).

There are nearly 774,000 words in the Bible. 66 books, 1189 chapters, and 31,173 verses. If you read 5 chapters a day (about 15 minutes a day), it would take you 237 days to read the whole Bible. That's just under 8 months.

So, if you devote the normal time you would spend just getting to know another human being and read the Bible instead, you'll get to know God as well as any person you date. If you want to take your BIble with you to dinner or a movie, you're welcome to do that as well. :)

God is real, If you have great faith them a doctor is not needed. Call upon the elders of the church to lay hands and pray for you if you are sick. Blind dates and God should not even be comparied. Trust in Jesus as your savior and he will show himself to you. Not in the way you may want, but he will show himself to you that he is real.

Blind dates are based on tangible experience of being human.
So, you are comparing apples to oranges.

Doctors don't heal anyone by themselves. It is a collaboration.
Life is a collaboration here...... it is an illusion that everyone is separate.

Ever noticed you cannot SEE your own face?
Your reflection is not your actual face....
God is HOW you are able to recognize yourself.

Those old photos, where you forget everyone in them except yourself... God is HOW you are able to recognize yourself in them, even when your body looks different from that now and you've never actually seen your face for yourself to begin with.

God is HOW you are able to BE you..... you get to decide what you think that is.

Your body is WHAT you are IN, not WHO you ARE.

God is LOVE, TRUTH, JOY....... religion is humanity trying to explain God.

Would you deny something you have experienced? Clearly you have not experienced God in your life. According to the Bible you WILL NOT understand the things of God because you CANNOT without His intervention.
