From what I've learned from services, all we have to do is believe in your heart that Christ died for our sins and was resurrected. Baptisms and other ceremonies are only formalities, and really don't contribute anything to your relationship with God. Just saying that someone who was baptised at birth, but is an atheist in adulthood, isn't necessarily saved.
God knows whats in your heart. If you have faith and believe you're saved, then you are. Its been said the worst sin you can commit is to deny His existance and refuse His salvation.
I know there are those that won't agree with this answer. And I know its not the only answer you will get. Try this link if you want to know more, its what I listen to and its easily catergorized into books and verses. http://www.ccfingerlakes.org/. Good luck

Since you used the word "saved", and you're writing in English, I'm going to assume that you're asking from a Christian or Biblical viewpoint.

The Bible says different things about being saved, depending on where you read. Because of this, it's impossible for any person who uses the Bible as their guide to know for sure whether they are "really" saved or not.

My question for you is: "Saved from what?" Eternal damnation and hell fire? Death? Unhappiness? Conflict? Desires?

First figure out for yourself what you're trying to be "saved" from.

In the Bible it says you cannot get to God except through Jesus. If you have accepted Jesus into your heart, you can KNOW you are saved. It also says no one can take you away from the Father (God). Rest assured, if you have commited your life to a loving God, old things will be passed away, and you will know in your heart that things have changed. You will act different, talk different, think different, because you will be a changed person.

When you've confessed with your mouth and trully believed in your heart in Him...Also, an unexplainable change will take place. Your interests, priorities, and desires all change for the Glory of the Father... Also, it becomes really hard not to love someone. There's no room in your heart for hate anymore.

The Bible says, "He who endures to the end will be saved." Even the apostle Paul referred to "those of us who are being saved" as it was an ongoing process, not something already concluded.

God changes our hearts. We know we by the peace and opening of our hearts to his truth, and by the evidence of his presence and care every day.
That is what being "born again" is. We have a new life, born in our heart and spirit through Jesus.
And that presence in us gives us assurance of salvation.
