I am a college student who is very interested in mathematics and the world around me. I have a series of favorite movies called "The Cube". In one of the serious it brings up the question of a 4th dimension. I then did some research into the 4th dimension and found some pretty fasinating information. But some of the material kind of crossed paths with what I have learned as a christian. Like the big bang, many of those scientific theories. I dont believe in those theories at all. I believe that God created the beginning. But who is to say that God hasn't told us everything in the bible, what if some of the scientific theories are correct but God just hasn't shinned light on those subjects. Im just wondering if its sinful to just think and theorize about these topics, or is it just part of the human condition and God doesn't find it sinful. Thank you.

Another question I have is. Is believing in ghost or spirits against God?

I just have to add that I am not questioning if God is real, for he is. I am asking if it is a sin to theorize about stuff that is not explained, in detail, in the bible.

Let's not get all mixed up here. "Is it a sin to question God" is a pretty broad and nonspecific statement. Do you mean His power? Or His existance? Or His revelations to us? Or His divinity? Or His love for us???
It is no sin to QUESTION the Bible--as long as you do it with a mind that does not denounce or demean or disbelieve the Bible. Questioning is different from disbelieving. Everyone has questioned at some point, so all the people above who wrote that you are going to hell for even questioning the Bible are hypocrits. Anyone who has ever read the Bible has questioned its truth. How can one really accept something if you have never questioned it?
Now, as for your specific topic about science. I wrestled with your questions for many years, until I came to an answer:
God never meant the Bible to be a science textbook.
If he had, he would have wanted it to be written "In the beginning, God created the energy strings, quarks, bosons, mesons, protons, and the quarks numbered 1E932, and the protons numbered 1E323...and then God created photons which are 1E-231 in diameter as a particle..."
Wouldn't that have saved us thousands of years of study and work in the sciences? But God never meant the Bible to be a scientific textbook or cookbook of creation. If He had wanted it to be, He certainly had the knowledge to write it that way. But, only the top 1% of educated people on earth today could have understood it. And, over 50 years ago, nobody would have understood it. What would any of that mean to the ancient people coming out of Egypt, Mesopotamia, etc.? Nothing!
The Bible says that God created the universe. But it does not tell us HOW He chose to do it.
God wrote something that has meaning today, just as it had meaning 4000 years ago. But, it was not meant to be a scientific explanation.

NO, as long as you believe in Jesus you will be saved.
As for questions, we were givin a mind in order to think & there is nothing that says the bible contains all the information or that a bible day is equal to our 24 hours.... so keep thinking, you may be the one to find evidence of a link between God & science.
Not sinful== don't let these other people make you feel like you are doing something wrong by questioning what you see....

No. You can question EVERYTHING and still end up believing in God. Don't let smaller minds hold you back from exploring what's out there.
btw: Just because the "big bang" is crap (which it is), doesn't mean that "creationists" are right. Don't rely on other people to tell you what reality is, but equally important, don't judge/hate others because they believe something that you know is ridiculous. There are people who will never understand the world at a level that you do, but that doesn't make them bad people, and it's ok to let them believe what gets them through the day. - Once angry atheist, now Christian by philosophy and AOK with the world.

God wants us to question him. He knows if you search with an open mind and heart you will see the truth. However be careful you are not told false things. Being in College can be a very trying time. Just keep in mind that there are text books being used today that have been proved wrong over 100 years ago. Also things they may believe to be true today will change tomorrow. The only evolution that takes place is science continually evolving to try and explain its error's and theories!

Yes it's a sin to question god. Even asking this question is a sin. Believe every word in the bible and don't ask questions. The answers will come between you and god. Play by the rules or stay out of religion. Any doubts will send you straight to hell. Wear blinders if that's what it takes.I can get you a birka cheap.

Very interesting I found this question after just reading the very in-depth published studies, that is truly thought provoking! Yet it shows how the Bible answers all of our "hard" questions. A very inspirational and factual read, with all of its information backed up with both history, and the Bible. A long read, but well worth it. Please take the time to read and/or download and read a portion at a time -- It covers everything.
Once you click the link there are 2 parts under The False Prophet you need to click on in order to read the entire published works.

Rid everything you have been brought up to believe and know this: There never was, is, or EVER will, be a God. The god myth is completely an invention of early mankind who was too ignorant to explain the scientific phenomena going on around him, and to this day that myth is perpetuated.

God has blessed us with inquisitive minds. I think it's a sin NOT to use our intellects to ask about and ponder the "big idea" questions that don't have an obvious solution. In your searching, please don't view science and religion as polar opposites - consider how the two can coexist. Both are important sources of human wisdom; don't reject one or the other out of hand.

Perhaps the first thing you should learn is that the concept of sin was created in 900AD. If jesus didn't belive in sin why should I?
Then question everything. Use reality and reason as a base. If your religion does not pan out, then either your reality is false or your religion is.

Keep asking questions. Relentlessly. But have the humility to accept the limitations of your intelligence. Ultimately you will reach the Truth. God is Truth. May be not the same that is supposed to have been revealed through your scriptures.
