I have heard many people say that jesus smoked it up a lot. I am a christian, but love an occasional bowl. When i am high, i feel closer to god than i do at church. Does anyone have any input on wether or not it is OK for a christian to smoke dope?

The following article was taken from http://www.cnn.com/2001/WORLD/meast/09/18/vic.terror.iraq/index.html. At the end of the article, CNN tells us that "Iraq blames the United States for the deaths of 1.5 million Iraqis as a result of U.N. economic sanctions imposed after the Gulf War."

Contrasting messages from Iraq on terror attacks

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- In a letter to a U.S. anti-sanctions group, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz expressed "warm sympathies" over terrorist attacks that leveled the World Trade Center in New York and damaged the Pentagon in Washington, the official Iraqi News Agency reported Tuesday.

September 18, 2001 Posted: 8:41 AM EDT (1241 GMT)

Aziz extended his condolences to the "victims of the incident of 11 September" in a letter addressed to Kathy Kelly, co-founder of Voices in the Wilderness.

"Through you, I extended my condolences to the families of the victims and especially the honorable American people who were in solidarity with the Iraqi people," it said.

The Aziz letter was in marked contrast to an open letter to Americans and Westerners and their governments from Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein that was read Saturday on Iraqi television.

In the letter, he criticized the United States and Arab rulers who "rushed to condemn the event" of Tuesday's terror attacks on New York and Washington.

"What happened on September 11, 2001, should be compared to what their government and their armies are doing in the world," the statement read, blaming the deaths of 1.5 million Iraqis due to the blockage imposed by the United States and other Western nations.

"Americans should feel the pain they have inflicted on other peoples of the world, so as when they suffer they will find the right solution and the right path."

Iraq blames the United States for the deaths of 1.5 million Iraqis as a result of U.N. economic sanctions imposed after the Gulf War.

Situation 1: Say that God does exist and God has instituted realms of heaven and hell. Say also that all disbelievers of him will go to hell.
Putting aside all the other sins that a person can commit to determine eligibility to either realm, that would mean an atheist will go to hell while a believer will go to heaven.

Situation 2: God doesent exist, there is no afterlife to worry about.
Nothing will happen to atheist in death, nothing will happen to believers in death.

Consequence: In our world, if u do believe in god, there is no conseqence if god dosent exist. However if you dont believe in God and he does exist, the consequence is that you will go to hell.

reasoning : Therefore (to atheists) isint it a good idea just to believe in God as a precaution in case he does exist (which i believe fully that he does) since there is no consequence if it turns out to be otherwise?

Such as, interracial marriage being a bad idea, when if you read the Bible, it says no such thing. It does say Isreal should not marry people from the surrounding area (in the Old Testament), but that was because the people around them were idolaters, and did not believe in the One True God.
It does say God made Man in his image, but it does NOT say only this race or that race.

Judaism teach that God can not come in human form and that the Messiah has not come. Islam teaches that God has no son, when the scriptures openly state that they are a Deciever a LAIR and a AntiChrist.

1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth NOT that Jesus The Messiah is come in the flesh is NOT of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist..."
and the ESV states "This is the DECIEVER and the ANTICHRIST."

1Jo 2:22 Who is a LIAR but he that denieth that Jesus is the Messiah? He is a AntiChrist...

So are these scriptures referring to Judaism and Islam why or why not?

My studies and research shows that religious people are not exactly rocket scientists, they tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. In some cases, the more violent the person, the more religious they are. I suspect that the vast majority of religious people are well below average intelligence.

I wonder if trying to improve the intellectual standard of our global community, would help remove the various religions from our culture, and thereby improve happiness and peace for humanity.

I have a lil story, um so there is this guy who came to my workplace, and asked what my name was and he told me his name, next time i worked he stopped by and apologized stating he lied about his name, instead of being more annoyed, i said it was cool it and gave him a free lemonade..ever since then we talked and saw each other, and we always hanged out and i started to like him. I never thought that this type of person actually existed. He would indirectly express his feelings and obviously he deeply cared about me...well, there was this one night where he said, " I like you and Im attracted to you" and he leaned in for the kiss, but you know what i did? i leaned back and i dont know why, i wanted to kiss him, but he caught me off gaurd and that was my impulsive reaction, i guess i got scared and i have been thinking a lot about it, and i just cannot come to a conclusion...does he like or is just lust?

Now before anyone gets mad at me for being blasfamous, i just want to let everyone know that im a religious person who doesent question GOD.
But i like for arguments sake, is it possible that we were created by otherworldly beings.
This stems from research people have done of ancient civilization and found that many of them refer to otherworldly creatures as their creators.
Could it be possible that these creators still watch over us and instituted "supernatural" powers to people like jesus, moses, mohammed, etc to form an established religion just as an experiment with God being a symbolic figure they put in to see what are notion of him would be and see how willfully we would submit to a believe that has never been seen but only acknowledged? (damn i sound like an atheist)
I just find it an interesting notion that maybe everything we are being taught is a lie just to test our reactions.

I really doubt God sometimes like I feel like he's a fairytale. His book (the bible isn't real it was written by humans) =S but other times I'm brought to tears just praising his name..is this common? Is it right?

Let us look at what GOD Almighty Said to the Jews in the Bible:

"`How can you say, "We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?' (From the NIV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)"

The Revised Standard Version makes it even clearer: "How can you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us'? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes has made it into a lie. (From the RSV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)"

In either translation, we clearly see that the Jews had so much corrupted the Bible with their man-made cultural laws and fabrications, that they had turned the Bible into a lie! See Also Deuteronomy 31:25-29 where Moses peace be upon him predicted the corruption/tampering of the Law (Bible) after his death. The Book of Moses predicted that the Law (Bible) will get corrupted. The Book of Jeremiah which came approximately 826 years after did indeed confirm this corruption
