I don't believe that there is this ultimate being up in the sky siting on a thrown killing people for their sins. God is anyone or anything you wish him/her to be. As for the Bible, you are right it was written by humans. These people perceived what may have gone on thousands of years ago a certain way. Its like telephone what one person said may not be the same as what you heard. Back to what I was saying about God. It is your choice to believe he/she is all things you encounter during life or what ever you choose. I hope this helps you in someway.

No one dared so far to claim creating, or being able to create, any single thing, even a hair!! The Creator and The Sustainer of all these Creatures is One only; if there were more than one there would have been confusion in the heavens and the earth! That One is Allah (the only true God).
Can we find an explanation of the great universe? Is there any convincing interpretation of the secret of existence? We realize that no family can function properly without a responsible head, that no city can prosperously exist without sound administration, and that no state can survive without a leader of some kind. We also realize that nothing comes into being on its own. Moreover, we observe that the universe exists and functions in the most orderly manner, and that it has survived for hundreds of thousands of years. Can we, then, say that all this is accidental and haphazard? Can we attribute the existence of man and the whole world to mere chance.
In the world then there must be a Great Force in action to keep everything in order. In the beautiful nature there must be a Great Creator who creates the most charming pieces of art and produces everything for a special purpose in life. The deeply enlightened people recognize this creator and call him Allah 'God'. He is not human because no human can create or make another human. He is not an animal nor is He a plant. He is neither an idol nor is He a statue of any kind because none of these things can make itself or create anything else. He is different from all of these things, because He is the maker and keeper of them all. The maker of anything must be different from and greater than the things which he makes.
Imagine yourself in an aeroplane and you know it is
going to crash...
Who do you turn to for help then ?
Or on a ship in the sea, thrown helplessly up and down
by towering waves ...
There will have been a situation at one time or the
other in your life when you called upon your Creator
alone, forgetting everyone and everything else,
hoping, trusting, wishing that the Being you know in
your heart and soul that has power and control over all
things would help you. The only One you know can
save you!
The Atheist position is indeed hopeless. The believer has hope. If there is a God and there is life after death then the believer wins. If there is no God or no life after death the believer loses nothing. On the other hand, the Atheist loses badly if he wakes up to discover himself in the afterlife. In sum, if there is no afterlife both the believer and the Atheist are safe. But if there is an afterlife then the Atheist loses. The only one who can possibly lose is the Atheist.
On the other hand, it is the Atheist who is wasting his life. His life has no purpose but temporary enjoyment. But such enjoyment is always tempered by nagging doubts about whether or not life is heading in the right direction. It is the believer who lives in quiet confidence that God's promise is true.
Man cannot attain to his true humanity and acquire peace of mind unless he realises this aim for which he was created. But how can he do this! God, being merciful and Just, has helped him in many ways. He granted him an originally good nature that is inclined to know and serve its true Lord. He granted him a mind that possesses a moral sense and the ability to reason. He made the whole universe a natural book full of signs that lead a thinking person to God. But to make things more specific, to give him more detailed knowledge of his Lord, and to show him in a more detailed manner how to serve Him, God has been sending down verbal messages through His prophets chosen from among men, ever since the creation of man.
You may be saying that based on your understandings of what a religion is which are drawn from experiences of Christianity and other religions but don't necessarily apply to Islam. So here are a couple of points which may help to correct such misunderstandings; There is no church hierarchy in Islam

There is a great deal of genuine emotion behind most religious ceremonies, just as there is behind many great films and books. But this emotion does not make the story become real. Many people are touched by some well told fictional stories. And some of them are moved to tears, too. And those tears are genuine, usually coming from other real experiences those people have had in their lives and which resemble those that are being told. So, they're perfectly justified in crying.
Religious ceremonies are similar in that they can move you to tears out of association of the situation you're witnessing and a previous emotive experience. The Bible is a fairy tale, all right. Only it was very well written.

You are not alone. First let me give you an analogy of a personal experience and then I will explain.
A very long time ago when I was a kid, my younger brother was having an argument with a friend about whose brother was tougher. One thing led to another and by the end of the argument this other boy ran to his house and told his brother that I was going to punch him. When I got home I got punched in the nose for something I had no idea was going on.
God is in a similar situation, I hear people say that God condemns these people for such and such reason, or that God will in some way defend their cause and condemn all others, and of course the most common the “my religion is the true one favored by God and all other will go to hell”
Well these are people talking, not God, so weather or not you believe in God or not you really need to listen to yourself and not others because if they say yes or no they are bias for one. Like you said even the bible was man made.
One way or the other the answer must be yours and yours alone. I wish you well.

You only need to look around at creation,to see that Jehovah God is real.
His holy word, the Bible isn't a fairytale.Even though men and women penned the actual words, what they wrote was inspired of God.Even though the Bible took some `1500 years to write using some 40 different people from different backgrounds to write God's words, the whole thing is harmonious from beginning to end.Surely, man could not accomplish this on his own.
Maybe you would benefit from having a free home bible study.Jehovah's Witnesses have a clear and accurate understanding of the holy scirptures and would be more than happy to conduct a study with you.Why not pop in to your local kingdom hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. It may be just what you need - to develop a closer relationship with your heavenly Father.

I think if people were honest, They would almost all admit that at some time in their lives they had a certain amount of doubt. It is Satan trying to turn us away from the truth. You have a battle going on inside you. The age old battle of good and evil. It's true that the Bible was written by men, but what they wrote was inspired by God and you can believe that the messages held within those pages, are from God. God is no fairytale. He lives, as does his son Jesus Christ. They both have bodies of flesh and bone just as we do, and They both love you with a love we can not even comprehend. What so many people don't understand is that church is for the purpose of fellowship. So those of weaker faith can lean on those who have a stronger faith so they can become strong also. In turn they can be strong for someone else. Go to church, lean on those of stronger faith. Don't be ashamed to ask them for their strength and pray often for your own true conversion. You will emerge as a butterfly, a disciple of Christ.

It is perfectly normal to have doubts... after all, you are human and we are conditioned (especially in this society) to believe only what we can see... c'mon, if the disciples doubted... you can't really put yoruself down for the same thing, can you?
The fact that you feel his presence when you praise him is confirmation of what's written in the Bible: God inhabits the praises of his people.
Talk to him... let him know exactly how you feel and that you want to understand him better... then... be ready for him to answer.

Your tears are the Holy Spirit. The bible isn't God's book, it is a book of stories by people who had experiences with God. Just trust in the fact that God isn't confused about you!

The Bible is fact and reality. It was written by humans, but they were inspired to write what they wrote by God. Feeling emotional during worship is very natural.
