As gandhi said "i like your christ, but not your christians....they don't act very much like your christ"

I think it rings some truth in it.

Living in NC I hear a lot about the end times and even see bumper stickers promoting it "Warning: in case of rapture this car will be unmanned" Then I read tracts which tell me how horrible the end times will be and just who is going to be left behind gays, all non-christians and other good people who just happen to have a different point of view. Further more people who do terrible acts such as murder or worse can repent five minutes before they die and go to heaven.

If I were one of the ones choosen to go to heaven at the end of days (and according to what I am told I will not be) I would beg God to please spare the innocent and good people of this world and make a place for us all and if I felt I was going to be choosen in the final days I still would not go around praying for judgement day. I just do not understand.

Give away all your posessions, take a a vow of poverty and leave your family.

Matthew
19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

An aquaintance of mine who has Muslim friends told me that Islamists value death the way that Christians value life...and that Islamists value having their children die in the name of "Jihad" and that martyrdom of their children is the highest honor. I am curious and would like to hear from Islamists on this. Thanks.

I tell them that they are equal in dignity but not the same as a man, but they get offended by this. Do they want me to lie and tell them that they are a man?

Equality is not sameness. Men are men and women are women. Am I the only one who thinks I am being Captain Obvious for making this statement?

It seems that everywhere on this site there is a Christian bashing evolution or atheism or Islam. Why? I find it very rude to do this, yet when we call you on it you say that you are peopel too, just that your actions are somehow better than ours because you are forgiven.

What a load of BS

I was thinking, do we first think and consider the impact our words may have on another? That we are not aware of what another is going through and we could very well be the life saver that rescues or the weight that drowns ? Just a thought. I personally have much to think about.Words often outlive the speaker.

It seems that people view these issues as religious issues and clump them together with things that happened in the bible thousands of years ago.

It's actually pretty racist, when you think that words written about a culture that came and left in Caesar's time are being applied to recent transplants?

My point is that border disputes with guns happen all over the world. Isn't it poor on our part to assign Israel's problems a special status?

Nobody's fighting over God so much as "Turf". It's got more in common with "West Side Story" than what Isaiah and Ezekiel and the boys wrote.

I don't mean to make light of anyone suffering, and I exaggerate to make my point, but does anyone even see what I'm saying, even if you disagree?

Anybody with a brain larger than that of a flea should be able to put 2 & 2 together, and deduce the conclusion, that the sole purpose of such acts has nothing whatsoever to do with God; but rather, has everything to do with the Devil, and his clever servants--those living exhorbatant lives on wealthy estates bought from fortunes made from manufacturing and selling idiotic terrorists the weapons they use to carry out their `acts of ignominious destruction.

Instead of pathethic gay cowboy movies, would Hollywood please make a long overdue film showing terrorists getting their just rewards in Hell? A movie showing the Souls of innocent people murdered by terrorists, beating the hell out of such terrorists in Hell for eternity--might be a good place to start. Watch for such a depiction in the forthcoming book "BONUS OF VIRTUE" by Aaron Westley Powell.

and they say no. It would seem to me you can not believe in one without believing in the other. A ghost is a soul that has not left this plane of existance. It would seem that out of all the souls in existance some for various reasons would choose not to move on.

"how three different things can be one and the same, how anything singularly absolute in its unity with its indivisible oneness, can ever by itself become divided into three separate beings with three variant native attributes opposed to each other justifying the distribution into the three different entities.

An Absolute one must be totally independent in its existence,as it impossible to reason out the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. The science of Mathematics or any other science which any human genius can ever conceive, until the end of time, can never solve this inconceivable riddle.

The only thing is that Christians are shut out of the vast sources of knowledge about the truth and of the higher factors in matters of religion which are available outside our own fold, by damning every non-Christian as the devil's work."
