This question will anger some Muslims but I have to ask....?

Question

An aquaintance of mine who has Muslim friends told me that Islamists value death the way that Christians value life...and that Islamists value having their children die in the name of "Jihad" and that martyrdom of their children is the highest honor. I am curious and would like to hear from Islamists on this. Thanks.

let me tell u in simplest way..

for muslims, we live because of Allah, everything we do in our life is all because of Allah, even we die because of Allah..

why everything is because of Allah? Allah is our creator, our God. We human is only Allah creatures, same with animals, trees, mountain and this whole world is Allah creatures. Allah was the one who give soul and food, earth, air, water and everything to us. for us to live in this world.

Thus in Islam we are teached to obey and respect Allah because of what Allah has give to us, as one way for us to show our gratitude and thankful to Allah because he provide us what we need.

because of this high gratitude and respect towards Allah as well as the prophets in Islam, Muslim can get angry if there is anybody who show disrespect or make fool towards Allah, prophets as well as our religion which is Islam.

Allah asked us Muslims to only attack people to defend ourselves. Allah said, when some one is attacking us & our religion, then only we can defend ourselves, kill only to defend. Thats what the true Islam is.

So, we called it Jihad as to protect ourselves, religion, and our country. So, thats why some parents were pleased if their child is death because of defending our religion, our country and ourselves because of Allah. And Muslims who Jihad will definitely go to heaven as their high faith towards Islam and Allah.

If u dont understand.. its just like, u go for war and ur purpose is to protect ur country so u dont care if u die because to protect ur country.. its that simple.

but some muslims misrepresent the meaning of Jihad.. some muslims bomb themselves in public.. thats not Jihad, that sumicide and killing innocent people, they will surely go to hell..

First what do you mean by Islamists?
If you mean Muslims, then say Muslims. Or do you mean extremists who will do anything in the name of whatever god?

Muslims don't want their children to die anymore than any other human being on the planet. Muslims are not what you see on TV. Muslims who die in the name of war are supposed to go to heaven but this doesn't mean they want to die in the name of war. No one wants to die because we're here to live until our time has come: Some Muslims simply have no choice and no comfortable little lives like most of us have:

There are good and bad Muslims, Christians, atheists, etc. Fortunately most of them are good.

For the present time, Muslims are being persecuted and so you're more likely to hear bad than good. But of course this doesn't mean it's the truth.
I really dislike anyone trying to paint anything completely black. I guess it's the easiest thing to do. There's no thinking involved in the process, just big sweeping statements.
We could paint everything else black in the same manner. It's also being done.
But if you're interested in this religion, find out for yourself and by yourself.
Of course your question is likely to anger some Muslims. It's like advertising. Imagine the same ad constantly repeated about how bad all Americans are because of this and that and the other. Fortunately Muslims are trying to reply peacefully to each question no matter how much they can hurt them and this is the right thing to do.

Well, you are going to here this straight from a Muslim who has studied Quran and has listened to Imam lectures and sermons. Islam does not value death. Yes, it is true that is someone dies as martyr, they will be rewarded with heaven, but do you know what that is? That is dying as a civilian. And Jihad--- Jihad is a internal or external struggle. It is not a religious war, it is a struggle. It can be within yourself trying to overcome an obstacle.

There is a verse in the Quran that says to kill one person is as if you killed all of humanity and to save one life is as if you saved all of humanity.

How come no Muslims are answering your question? There appear to be quite a few on Yahoo Answers, judging by some of their questions about the West, but they seem to avoid questions like yours -- trying to understand them. Do the moderate Muslims not care how other people perceive their religion?
