I was thinking, do we first think and consider the impact our words may have on another? That we are not aware of what another is going through and we could very well be the life saver that rescues or the weight that drowns ? Just a thought. I personally have much to think about.Words often outlive the speaker.

Not that is what I mean I am a Christian and I am a person. I think and I feel the same as anyone else.

Richard Dawkins theorises that humans developed, and use, the power of speech not to express themselves but to manipulate others. He sees this as a natural outcome of humans', and all animals', thirst to survive at the expense of all others.

Pretty grim, it seems. But overcoming this natural 'instinct' requires us to develop our sense of empathy; our ability to 'put ourselves in other people's shoes'. Unfortunately, empathy is usually our reaction to non-verbal signals like facial expression, tone of voice and our knowledge of, and care for, the person in question. Here on the internet, that's all stripped away. We don't know each other; we don't see each other's faces. It's easy to consider other people here as 'words on a screen' without remembering that behind every question or answer is a living, breathing human being with the same vulnerabilities as anyone else. It's tough to be empathetic - it takes more mental effort.

We just all need to try to make that mental effort. After all, that's what Yahoo provides this service for!

Once they're out - you can't get them back. Generally, I do my best to think carefully before I speak or type. Sometimes, my emotions do get the best of me, but I do make at least an attempt to make thoughtful and sincere answers here and in my 'regular' life generally.

No only do words outlive the speaker, but how the words are stated has more influence on the reaction than the actual words spoken. We are social animals, we speak mostly with our bodies than our mouths. That is something that must be understood, especially here, as people must remember that we cannot actually SEE one another. A result is more can get read into an answer than otherwise might.

The words ALWAYS outlive the speaker. I try to think about the impact what I am saying will have on a situation, but my wit gets the better of me sometimes. Good Question.

I do realize that my words have an impact, and I try my very best to make it a strong, encouraging, Christian impact. I will not lie and say that it always turns out that way, but, as the saying goes, "The truth hurts."

Our words do have an impact on not only who we talk to but on many others as well. Our words are very far reaching and we should always use wisdom and discernment when we speak sprinkled thoroughly with grace, mercy and love.

very good, it says in the bible many times not to say offensive things or get people mad or argue because our words do have an impact and we often cannot tell the effect it will have on the other person.

Yep. That's why I try to give answers from the Bible and not from my opinion. Everybody has an opinion but God's Word is the Final Truth and Authority.

Yes, I agree with u.
There are certian types of people whom we meet everyday.
1. the people who take a lot of care in their talk. they have made it a rule of them to think before speak, and the speedy way they think, and then speak with differtiating in a no time is just amazing. They realy are successful,
2. the people who care they wouldn't speak anything wrong, but they sometime get little bit frustrated coz sometime they speak true according to their own thoughts but the person standing by them takes it into wrong side. such people can't help controlling it.
3. the people who just speaks, It doesn't matter what is the result of their expressions.

"be carefull of ur thoughts bcoz ur thoughts may become ur words. be careful of ur words bcoz ur words may become ur expressions. be careful of ur expressions bcoz ur expressions may become ur chracter." "think good, say good, and have good"

Absolutely. We are all actually journaling right now. I try to be careful not to offend anyone and I try not to be easily offended. Your right people have to be careful, I am trying to stay away from questions I might be tempted to answer sarcastically, and am trying to pick questions where there is a sincere desire to edify one another.

Yes, words are things ..they often can make things materialize. It is so important to think before we speak.
