I once believed in such a place till I decided to follow the divine compass placed in my heart. This took a lot of strength because before then my ethos was fear based. Not only do I believe perfect love drives out all fear but I believe God is better than many fundamentalist portray the higher power to be. The Apostle Paul once killed Christians because he thought he was doing God a favor. Just goes to show how wrong you can be. I am asking this question not because I do not have my own opinions but because I think the process is important for people to work through themselves. I just hope they don't spout out something they were told but something they have discovered by not only seeing the mirror of the world but also looking deep within themselves.

I grew up in a Catholic family but a very relaxed one. I guess my problem with the faith is I was attending CCD classes and my teacher was explaining to me that if someone killed a family member of mine that I must forgive them as a Catholic. But honestly most Catholics I know wouldn't even do that. Is this true that you must forgive someone so sick and twisted? Is there a good book or website that answers a lot of questions like this. I'm always questioning the faith to the point where I just believe something exists and I wont know what it is till I get there.

Well it does say that Death and Hell are cast into the Lake of Fire but alot of Preachers are telling people if not Saved they will spend an eternity in Hell, when in reality they will be cast into the Lake of Fire? Nevertheless it'll be hot.

Have you ever seen a picture of God or His likeness? You see Jesus but not God, His Father.

I mean POSITIVE cultural revolution, of course. You think events like September 11 would have been a turning point and inspiration, but it only moved people temporarily and then returned to the usual. Who's to say our country has no hope of improvement? Our empire is relatively a baby compared to other civilizations who have lasted and/or are still around who have been around way longer than we have. We should have a lot of years ahead of us for change. BTW contrary to popular belief, the Roman Empire did not fall because of moral decay, but for the opposite reason. The Roman Empire was more moral and spiritual at the end then at other times, which is ironically part of the reason why it fell because their empire ran on immoral and greedy means.

No smartass or gloom-and-doom answers please, and atheists, please keep it polite. I don't need more negative energy.

They are not shunning me, let's get that straight first off. They don't understand what it is I believe in. I have tried to explain my beliefs to them, but they aren't understanding. How can I explain it to them? Are there any books on this subject that I could show them?

It seems that whether it's clothing, music, Bible versions, .... that churches are dividing themselves, along with the people. IS it not silly?

What if these were your kids?
Kings 6:28-29 “And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.”

Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment: “He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.” Matthew 15:4-7

Abandon your wife and children for Jesus and he’ll give your a big reward. Jesus asks that his followers abandon their children to follow him. To leave your child is abuse, it’s called neglect, pure and simple. Matthew 19:29

Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark 7:9

So that means... Christians, you can't say the Bible. Muslims, you can't say the Koran. Etc. Atheists and Agnostics, no restrictions. Let me know which faith you affiliate with too if it's not too much trouble.
