By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

Jesus (and later the apostles) worked miracles in order to prove that what they were saying was of God.

Today we have our love for each other (and for the lost) to prove that we are of Him.

It doesn't matter how much we know or what great technique we have for sharing it, if we don't love each other. If we can't show His love to the world, we cannot reach them.

It may depend on the audience you seek. On a global scale, effectiveness depends on your market. For instance, a viral method of convincing people of independence and self reliance could be attained through marketing of a certain "way" and composing a product line, selling information and leading people in through a loss leader and leading by example. Through this, YOU benefit you. Through that, your higher profile then benefits others. My answer may come in the form of buzz-words, however the paradigm of realized change comes at the price of loss of the former life. Elimination of the "fallen" aspect of this world is paramount, however the tools to achieve this are neither good nor evil, and those within this plane are quite indifferent as well. Inspire anger love joy wrath or hate, and teach the wisdom of difference. Make them care.

Its tough to do. So many different so called religions out there. So many crooks in some of the churches. Its a wonder anyone will believe. We just need to remember it is Jesus who saves, all we are is messengers.
Have you seen the program 'being a Contagious Christian", its the best I have seen in a long time. It is slower that the old methods but it works better in today's society.

The people who are "ripe for picking" will be reached easily. The others will probably never be reached. According to the Bible at least, people will just get more and more evil til Jesus returns to fix it all.
I don't know if you believe Islam, Christianity, Judaism or what, so I'll stop now before I get any deeper. : )

fallen? If this world is messed up its because you humans messed it up dont blame this on me, i was an animal in most of my lives.

Christianity makes a mockery of God. At the same time that Christians claim to worship God as an omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent being, they make him out to be incompetent bumbler. Or worse. Simple forgiveness is beyond his capacities. God must "sacrifice himself to himself to change a rule he made himself!"

This is not only an absurdity, it is an essential absurdity. It is present in almost almost all forms of Christianity, and one can scarcely remove it and remain a Christian in anything but name. By definition, all Christians worship Christ - in some form - and most worship him as a saviour.

But what, exactly, is he saving us from? Though it varies from church to church, no matter what they call it, it's God himself. A hell created by God, a world fallen as a result of God's negligence, a separation from God imposed... by God.

"It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being."
- Dan Barker, Losing Faith in Faith

Christianity certainly isn't the first religion to promote appeasement of its gods, and if it were merely another supernatural protection racket, it would be bad enough. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. Christians elevate appeasement to the realm of "personal relationship", transforming their religion into a true monstrosity.

This is the type of "relationship" that abused wives have with their husbands, that brainwashed hostages have with their captors. It is known in clinical circles as Stockholm Syndrome. Should it come as any surprise that the cries of the church, "The Bride of Christ" sound much like the cries of an abused wife attempting to protect her husband?

"He must beat me."
"I deserve it."
"He has no choice."
"It's for my own good."

These excuses don't work for human abusers, and they work even less well for God. For if God is omnipotent, he must have a choice. And if we are flawed, we are only flawed because that is the way he made us. (No excuses that we ruined his perfect creation. A truly perfect creation does not self-destruct.)

If the Christian God does exist - and I see no reason to believe that he does - he's not worthy of the name.

And that is the ultimate absurdity of Christianity.

By living His Word.
Luke 14 says to seek them out but He can also direct those who need you to you. I've seen it. Afterwards, when you realize what has happened, it's awesome.

BTW - I love the attacks on this one. Not one word in your question about a particular religion - but look at all the responses smearing Christianity.

....Ri-ight....tell you what, you can pray for me as much as you want. Use all your spare time too, please! It'll save ya making trouble elsewhere!
I know how you *could* make a difference though...get off your computer, get some food from your pantry and go find someone who's hungry and homeless. Give them lots of your money too! Or is that too pro-active for you? Too cold out, is it? Comfy indoors? Easier to sit and moan, isn't it.

Elegantly put, brianna. :)
