The following is a quote from the 2000 Encyclopædia Britannica, Volume 11 ; page 390.


"During the later periods of Roman history, sun worship gained in importance and ultimately led to what has been called a 'solar monotheism.' Nearly all the gods of the period were possessed of Solar qualities, and both Christ and Mithra acquired the traits of solar deities. The feast of Sol and Victus (open unconquered Sun) on December 25th was celebrated with great joy, and eventually this date was taken over by the Christians as Christmas, the birthday of Christ." Notice how it says "both Christ and Mithra acquired the traits of solar deities"? The Christians were apparently trying to get more converts so they tried to "paganize" the Messiah to make Him more attractive to pagans. They even officially brought the feast of the unconquered sun into their worship in 336 AD. This is the origin of Christmas.But the real question is, "Who converted who?"

If Christians really make their own decision to become Christians, they would learn about Christianity BEFORE becoming Christians. Most Christians start learning about Christianity AFTER they've already considered themselves Christians.

God has spoken to the human race in every age from the distant past to this very day. Because we are created in His image, we possess a moral conscience that speaks to us of right or wrong. All the reasoning of unbelief does not alter two positive bibical truths: man possesses an inner moral sense which comes from God : man's consciousness of right and wrong tells us something about God and His will.
God also provides revelation through the testimony of history or experiences of individuals and nations. When individuals and nations throw off moral restraint, they become miserable and weak ; Observation indicates that loose living creates unhappiness and premature death among men and women ; History reveals that nations which lost their moral fiber deteriorated to second rate power.
Nature testifies to God's existance, wisdom, and power. Any open minded person who observes the created world, therefore, cannot help but feel that behind it all is a power that is vastly superior to him

If a person acts guilty after the fact, regardless of what they did, should or do you still forgive if they don't admit to it? I've had people say and do different things to me, but they would come back and act guilty and remorseful, but just won't say I'm sorry. Does that count as asking forgiveness or do they actually have to confess in some way verbally? What's your opinion?

I don't want a bunch of people on here telling me how wrong I am about this, I just need instuction on the rituals or taboos that I should avoid on this Holy Day. I have decided to keep the True Hebrew Sabbath Day holy and to honor the Lord by keeping His Commandment. My church has not accepted this and does not practice it so I can not attend a church on this day. Can someone please tell me how to Honor My Father on this day. There is a Seventh Day Adventist Church in town but I don't want to go to another church, I want to serve God and by honoring Him this way. I trust that He will show my church the error of the Sunday Sabbath. I am aware of the rule that we should not work or allow our children to work or our servents on this Holy Day.Should i cook certain kinds of food? Can I prepare food or can I clean up messes? Can I travel or drive or go to a barbeque? Can I get on the computure or watch TV for pleasure? I need people that know really know what they are talking about.

If the Christian God is Omnipotent (all-powerful), Omnipresent (everywhere), and Omniscient (all-knowing), then he/she knew that Adam & Eve would sin before he even created them. So, he puts them in a no win situation from the start, and punishes them for it.

Also, why would God put his precious human creation in the same area as "the serpent?" Hmmm... seems logically deficient.

And speaking of Satan, GOD knew when Satan (Lucifer) was first created that he would turn against him. So, either GOD is not truly Omnipotent, or he doesn't really exist, or we are all his lab mice and he/she just loves to mess with our minds. ;)

I was involved in a church and it was known that there was a man in the church that beat his wife. I told the pastor that the men of the church should get to gether with that guy and let it be known that if he EVER hits the woman again, these men would beat him sensless. If it still continues then the men of the church will give him worse than he gives until the creep either stops, leaves or dies.
The pastor said that we should PRAY.

The Bible says that if we see someone with a need and only say (for example) "be well fed or be warm, and we do NOTHING to help this person's need that our Faith is empty and in vain.

Why wouldn't most people like to see Chick publications disbanded and put out of business? They are intolerant of other belief systems. They go out of their way to degrad other faiths. When ever I see there books around I rip them up. Their leader is a coward who won't even show himself.

I really wanna believe more but it's so hard. Talking snakes - a massive flood - Red Sea opening wide. Its hard to believe in comparison to Darwin, fossils, etc.
How can we have 6 billion people only a few thousand years after Noah? And wouldn't first cousins be having sex at that point to repopulate the earth? Where did the different races come from?

It is about life, the structure of the universe, and what will lead to salvation, perennial release and sat-chit-ananda(Truth, knowledge and bliss) state.
My discovery in that ‘realization’ was the illusionary structure of life and how one can transcend or break that illusion and merge with the almighty God. Eternal Salvation is possible for everyone, provided they follow the 'rules'

they say asslamwalecum to two kind of powers located on either side. one is bad and one is good. i feel that this is to remind that bad or good both are with us all the time. why on shoulders ? may be thats one place where the head is in the middle and it is left to the individual to decide if to go with the good or the bad.

If Adam and Eve were the first humans, and they were created in God's image, then is God a neanderthal? I don't recall stories of Adam hitting Eve over the head and dragging her to the Garden of Eden. Not meaning to be funny here, Just tring to gain some perspective.

Satan attacks me again today...but i stand up tall lol.

First, I went to a amusement park with ppl. I went on the water park, and there was one of those tiolet slides. I always feared my top falling off...so of course, As i fell into the hole...my bikini top fell off...Nobody saw, but i believe the lifeguard did...I WAS MORTIFIED!

second, ex tried to get at me again...he went to his friends house to have fun... he didnt talk to me then. Then when i was about to go to my friends house to have fun to hang, he got mad; telling me to not go, to talk to him. I told him no, i need my fun time. He said i was being selfish. Why does he do this?

Even though satan is attacking me...I have Christ.

I finally realized what i wanted in my life...

1. Christian Man, who understands God, prays, reads the bible with me, and joins in church...
2. Happily Married, raising my children to serve lord.
3. Go to college for Medical, to be a Anestigiologist!
4. wait til marriage/be pure.
