I believe that there is no God. I'm beyond Atheism. Atheism is not believing in God. Not believing in God is easy -- you can't prove a negative, so there's no work to do. You can't prove that there isn't an elephant inside the trunk of my car. You sure? How about now? Maybe he was just hiding before. Check again. Did I mention that my personal heartfelt definition of the word "elephant" includes mystery, order, goodness, love and a spare tire?
So, anyone with a love for truth outside of herself has to start with no belief in God and then look for evidence of God. She needs to search for some objective evidence of a supernatural power. All the people I write e-mails to often are still stuck at this searching stage. The Atheism part is easy.
But, this "This I Believe" thing seems to demand something more personal, some leap of faith that helps one see life's big picture, some rules to live by. So, I'm saying, "This I believe: I believe there is no God."
Having taken that step, it informs every moment of my life. I'm not greedy. I have love, blue skies, rainbows and Hallmark cards, and that has to be enough. It has to be enough, but it's everything in the world and everything in the world is plenty for me. It seems just rude to beg the invisible for more. Just the love of my family that raised me and the family I'm raising now is enough that I don't need heaven. I won the huge genetic lottery and I get joy every day.
Believing there's no God means I can't really be forgiven except by kindness and faulty memories. That's good; it makes me want to be more thoughtful. I have to try to treat people right the first time around.
Believing there's no God stops me from being solipsistic. I can read ideas from all different people from all different cultures. Without God, we can agree on reality, and I can keep learning where I'm wrong. We can all keep adjusting, so we can really communicate. I don't travel in circles where people say, "I have faith, I believe this in my heart and nothing you can say or do can shake my faith." That's just a long-winded religious way to say, "shut up," or another two words that the FCC likes less. But all obscenity is less insulting than, "How I was brought up and my imaginary friend means more to me than anything you can ever say or do." So, believing there is no God lets me be proven wrong and that's always fun. It means I'm learning something.
Believing there is no God means the suffering I've seen in my family, and indeed all the suffering in the world, isn't caused by an omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent force that isn't bothered to help or is just testing us, but rather something we all may be able to help others with in the future. No God means the possibility of less suffering in the future.
Believing there is no God gives me more room for belief in family, people, love, truth, beauty, sex, Jell-o and all the other things I can prove and that make this life the best life I will ever have.

Yes i believe in God and truly believe in this fact that we all are creations of God and this world is a creation of Almighty not a result of some human work.Because what man made always has a side effect or a negative point and what God has made for us only benefits.I believe in God's existence because that is the only true evidence of my existence.

God has more evidence than science but blind people will never see. The discoveries that science brought to this world has created doubts within the fallibility of the human mind. He has a lot of witnesses since the beginning of time and that cannot be changed or unproven.

It does indeed make more sense to believe in God when you are willing to listen and study things out and pray, but there is a devil with many unseen followers who are spreading doubt and contention in an insidious way. Until the devil is held captive after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, I think people will continue to resist truth.

I don't expect my Bible to be a science textbook. God is not going to reveal in the Bible how to go about creating your very own universe, complete with life, in just six short days.
As created beings, we are foolish if we think we can explain God. Having said that, let me add that there is no conflict between God and science. Rather, the conflict is between arrogant theologians who think they know it all, and big headed scientists who are sure that they do.
Obviously, the only One Who does, indeed, "know it all", is God.
Maybe if people would stop trying to confuse the physical with the spiritual.....

That makes no sense. You are saying some old man just made us pop up out of the ground one day.
You people automatically believ what the bible says. All the reasons you talk about are things some church official made up to make money. If you don't believe me look up history of the catholic church. It is a busness, the best business in the world.

Man's concept of god is an evolution. God evolved.
animals => stones => clouds => volcanoes => angry anthropomorphic gods => evil spirits => good spirit
People attribute things they don't understand to "god". When they understand that it is not "god" they move "god" back, further and further. The highest concept of "god" is not a creator god, but an "incomprehensible unknown god". This simply cuts the crap and you don't have to make up excuses every time science proves you wrong.

Honestly, it doesn't make sense, and I am a Christian. If it made sense and I could figure it out, that wouldn't be much of a God now, would it? What makes sense to me is that God IS real, and I have heard his voice. And sometimes I miss hearing his voice, but when I do, awesome things happen when I respond

when i was kid, it never made sense to me that my parents would pick one day a year, drive to all sorts of shops, bought the most beautiful presents for me, wrapped them in nice paper, put them under a christmastree, and every year still let me be nervous if Santa would not forget about me.
So, of course the existence of Santa made more sense to me.
Evolution is a theory that needs to be studied before it can be understood. So, of course the concept of a God makes more sense to people.
