Its very inspiring hearing about the british empire, Roman empire, greek mythology etc. Just wondered did black people ever rule the world? When(BC)? where (country)? Which books could i buy to read up more on such topics? Or which website could i visit.

I mean we all know about the slavery saga, what about the glories - success, wealth, beauty and much more?
Thanks for your help.

I do not care what religion or persuasion you are. We were given by luck or design a beautiful planet with wonderful animals, resources and Nature, and we were all given brains. We have STUFFED UP nearly everything and we care less about each other than ever. Whole species have died out. What ratio of caring good people are left? If YOU had given a planet all this and seen it abused what would you have done...

I need to know briefly how our society handles death (not the grieving process or anything but the actions that need to take place...)

like, if for example a family member died in the bed upstairs, would the first action be calling a mortuary or whatever?

basically what happens to the dead person and the dead person's family in between the time upon noticing the death to when they are completely burried?

Be aware that I'm not mocking, much less trying to offend.

Just want to know if there is some historical basis for this or its just an urban legend.

and burying it under the ground in front of someone's house that they hate, peppercorns and magic words and putting belief into objects. I don't believe in that stuff at all, though I do believe in prayer. A girl I know got kicked out of her rented house for being a "witch". I think just believing in that stuff doesn't make you a witch or that you have special powers. I think it makes you stupid to think that if you bury a picture of somebody they will have bad luck. If you believe a man will fall in love with you if you do certain things or say a certain phrase does that make you a witch or just stupid. Many many Hispanics believe in these things... tarot card reading and such. How do you feel about this practice?

I am reading more and more about how our media is being saturated with sex in the U.S. and how it is harming our society. Over exposure for children can be very harmful from this.

But I used to live in Europe and sex is EVERYWHERE. They are much more liberal about sex and SEEM to still have a healthy life style. Porno can be seen on basic television late at night for any kid to see, but I never hear about porno addiction over there.

Are the statistics on porn addiction the same in Europe as it is in the US? If it is the same, then why not more so?

Thanks for your time!

Does anyone else go straight to the science or logic questions to escape the stupidity and depressing ignorance of people out there? Types of questions include:
"What should I wear to the prom?"
"Am I pregnant?"
"Should I go to college?"
"My cat (or dog) is dying, should I take it to a vet?"
"My boyfriend is cheating on me. Should I dump him?"

Answering these questions only makes me doubt the average intelligence of people... and I feel bad for thinking so negatively...

My job sometimes has irresponsible people calling me last minute with impossible requests, the problem being caused all because they were careless in the first place. I am then required to fix it as much as I can for my boss, which is fine as that is my job.

However, sometimes I find that I am required to fix it too much -the people are practically pleading for me to start from square one and fix the whole problem, essentially doing the job that THEY should have done.

And I'm ashamed to say that I usually do it, because I feel guilty, even though I have nothing to feel bad about!

Does anyone have that problem? Being too nice? How do you overcome it?
