A "honky" is a slur used against white people, but since it has no really meaning, you might as well call them a "radish"

Honkey means:

1. Racist name simular to "cracker" or "whitey"

2. insult to white people. same as whitey and cracker, but no white person is offended by these words no matter who is saying them. unless u call a wigger a honkey. then they get pissed.

3. A term used by any other person who is not white to offend the white race, even though it doesn't offend one single white person. A way of getting back at the white man for using the word ******.

I think that should explain it

"Honky" is a slang term (of unknown black origin) for a white person.
It is almost always intended to be disparaging; like "******."

Since the '70's I've spent a good bit of time and effort looking for an ethnic joke about a white person (e.g., "So, this white guy goes into a bar ..."). I found jokes about attorneys and blondes, but no "white guy" jokes, per se.

In that process, I did happen to uncover quite a few slang words for white people, including honky, cracker; whogee, casper, peckerwood, bollio (Mexican), and howlie, (sp? Hawaiian).

Amazing how Al Sharpton can use "honkey", yet if I ever used the "N" word, I'd be out of a job

Honky - elephant ears. White people are supposed to have large ears.

Not nice. Do not use it in public. Do not encourage others to use it either. Just know what it is and just keep quiet.

Plenty terms exist to describe others by their appearance. It can get very uncomfortable...

Being sensitive and staying away from remarks like that will only earn you respect and a lot of friends of all kinds.

Hello, one wild question. That name was brought about because white men would ride through the ghettos and honk at black women. These guys thought all black women were prostitutes at that time.

If you live in an area were there is a lot of activity like drugs and prostitution, keep your eye on the guys honking at women. Now adays women with class do not like to be honked at because of that.

Another term was cracker, whites were called that because of the cracking of the whip.

You make me feel old. Back in the 70's it was a term used for a white person by black people. It was derogatory. I believe it was in responce to all the years the white people said the 'n' word for blacks. If you don't know what it means then I suppose people don't say it anymore. Flip Wilson used to use it in comedy routines ( You probably don't know who he is either) God, I'm old.

A derogatory term for a white person, supposedly from the habit of rich white people in cars moving through crowds of black people and honking their horn to make them move out of the way
