I have heard that slaves built them, but that doesn't sound right to me. The pyramids are nearly perfectly built, and the blocks that they are built of are huge and heavy. This seems like way too much work for a slave to do. I think they were built by aliens from outerspace.

There aren't that many around and most are in the South, so my question, you have to go to the South to find any of them...Mine was Antietam.
Wow, what an eerie place, was my impression. 35,000 men dead in just a few days fighting. The stone bridges and houses still standing, looking pretty new, not really all that old.
The funny thing:all the people living around there call it 'Sharpsburg', even though in school we had to call it Antietam, or risk missing the question.
They weren't born back then so why are they so adamant at calling battle fields by different names?. Anyway, quite an experience.

Some examples (I'm leaving out the really stupid questions, so this should give you some idea):
What is the body of water that flows between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario?
What is [such-and-such sports team's] record [for given year]?
What is 2+2? (I realize some people may not know this.)

Any geography question, any sports statistic, any historical fact can be found much more quickly by visiting your local library or another web site. I am now at a loss for words. Good luck, and good night.

this sounds a little strange, but sometimes you put faith in the people around you, and they hurt you. what feelings are you then left with, and how do you overcome? It is very interesting to get so many different point of views.

Ok, so I'm sure most of you have heard about these 2 stories...
How is it fair that a man who sexually assaulted people, is getting: 25 years in prison, 10 years probation and his balls chopped off? (This was the plea bargain, keep in mind)
Yet the idiotic woman who "accidentally" left her baby in the car all day to fry to death doesn't get a damn thing, except maybe losing her job?!
Doesn't Florida realize that now, the man can just rape women when he gets out, without the worry of leaving sperm behind?! America is f*cked up!

People always want to rush through life and not stop and count the many blessings and friends and love ones that they have all around them. And then when those friens and loved ones are gone, then they realize how special those people are in their lives and they regret so much that they didnt say or didnt do, because it is to late to correct the wrong. We all take time our for a moment of silence, for our Troops (God Bless them), and for those that have lost their lives for our country, but we never take a moment and sit back and think and realize how special someone is in our life, or how that person has made us feel in the past and the good that they have brought into our lives. I Challenge all who read this, to stop for a few minutes and think about all the important people in ur life, and realize how much u love them and how much they love u, and send them an email telling them thanks for just being there when u needed them. God Bless you alll.....

Before you go on to say no it's going to lead to so many problems, I'll just say I'm a 20 year old male who is very responsible and not spontaneous by any means. I am not talking about drinking to get drunk, or drinking because it is the cool thing to do, I just want to know what the big deal is (I've never had any alcohol in my life). Everyone thinks it's crazy that I've never tried alcohol before, meaning kids my age and adults. I think in America, kids think they need to be drunk to enjoy alcohol, while in other counties, kids drink at an early age, but unlike Americans, they are responsible about it. I feel like drinking is a good means of socializing at an older age, but at the same time, I am very proud to have never touched alcohol and that is the main reason I've stayed away from it this long. I would lose my dignity if I were to drink, and I have an extreme superego to boot, which accounts for the reason I've never been to a party of club before. So is there any good reasons why I should keep up what I'm doing? Bad reasons? Thanks in advance!

Allright, I have been thinking about this for a while.
The average American takes a shower every day. In some other countries, they find this strange because they dont normally take a shower every day.
Really, Americans are being almost "brainwashed" into thinking they need to smell good everyday. Think about it..
we take a shower-
we use our fruity smelling shampoo
we wash our bodies with clean scent soap
we put on scented lotion
fresh smelling deoderant
perfume
fruity scented lipgloss
mint toothpaste
you pop in a beath mint every once in a while
etc....
do we really need to use all of this? Or is this just wasting our enviornment?
Yes, we want to smell nice and not stinky or smelly everyday, but some Americans go to the extremes.
People get so caught up in all of this, they are using every product they see on a commercial.
Im not going to lie, I use all of this stuff myself, but sometimes, we all need to stop and think about things like: do I really need this?

2007-09-14 14:13:29 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous

Will we survive the dramatic changes happening in the envioronment? Will the centers of power shift from the West to India and China? How will it be for our grandchildren who haven't been born yet? Will things get better or is the human race in decline? How will technology continue to change our lives? I would prefer not to have answeres from religious apocalyptisist, regardless of their religious beliefs I know they feel the world is ending and God is returning but that is not my belief and I would like to hear from others who may be futurists like Alvin Toffler or regular folks who have thought about this.
