this sounds a little strange, but sometimes you put faith in the people around you, and they hurt you. what feelings are you then left with, and how do you overcome? It is very interesting to get so many different point of views.

Amanda ,People you can not trust,God is the only one,ask the Lord to bring the people in your life that will help you be all you can be and are trustworthy, when we chose to trust people on our own accord we always get hurt, thats why [people leave churches ,If you have one friend that you can trust you are blessed,we never need to focus people but always keep our eyes on Jesus,It takes time to heal over what people do to you.Be blessed sweetie Lisa

Oh yes,

In part it has to do with actual betrayal, disappointment, putting my faith in the wrong people, in large, it is because I am a natural skeptic.

We do have someone who will not abandon us , ever, Jesus will give us the strength to endure our human lonliness.

My theory is that we love people for the need they will in us, and no one person can fill our needs. When we think they can, we are left feeling lonely, let down, abandoned, misunderstood etc........

It is Jesus who can feel each void within us. Many people find encouragment; throughout Psalms. My personal favorites are from Isaiah and Hebrews.

Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by name and thou art mine. Is. 43:1

Let us therefore come bodly unto the throne of grace that we may find mercy and grace to help in our time of need. Heb. 4:16

where ever you find it, I do wish you to find it

I am in absolute agreeance with Don S.
I have this little saying too,
'The more people I meet, the more I love my animals!'

"In God we Trust." "Not in man we trust."

Friends let you down and when they do, well it could take time to recover from it. You have to ask God to help you forgive and wait for the proper time to reconcile the friendship.
