The word 'promise' is not one I take lightly. I only make promises when I have every attention & am capable of keeping my word. Some people promise ridiculous things which aren't even possible but tell you that they'll find a way. I don't let people make those promises to me cos they just aren't realistic & cannot be kept. Also, things like "I promise i'll love you forever" or "we'll be together forever, I promise" I don't believe in. You can't control things like that, circumstances change & people change. So making promises is something you have to put a lot of thought into. Though these days most people throw the word around like it's a ball on a tennis court.

Yes, I keep my word. There's a phrase "a man's word is his bond" which I believe to be true and important. When you give your word, you give your pledge that you will do whatever you just said you would do. If you don't do it, you are untrustworthy. Once a man is considered untrustworthy, he's also considered to have a poor character or to be unprincipled (lacking moral scruples; having little or not integrity).
