In the programmes about slavery yesterday I saw a number of western-born black men describing how they feel their "African-ness".

I am a mother of two, raised up my children with love and care. Have been there for my children through thick and thin. I have a profession, but have to have a change in career, due to having to spend time w/my children after school. My new job starts at 6:00am, to 2:00pm. Time to get home to get ready to pick up my pre-teen from school and my Teenage boy. My boy treats me like trash, and all I do is treat him with so much love and care. So why does he call me, a f-b****, he hates me, wishes I was the kind of mother that didnt care, tells me to shut the f-up, just goes on and on and calls me a crazy b****. He is trying to drive me crazy, and my head is killing me. My schedule is so bussy with my son probation, counseling, other programs for him. Police involved to help me w/him. I'm going to school to go into the Criminal law field. Can someone advice me to what other kind of help is out there, because I am not understanding why I am going through this? When my children are so loved!

I'm from India. I'm not against gossip in office that is done loudly and cheerfully. But I hate it when sometimes guys talk in low voice and sitting so close to each other on the work desk, generally looking "Intimate". Whenever I see that my mind shouts "Gay!". Well I know they aren't gay but it sucks to see that. It would be good if they sat spaced apart, spoke in a louder voice and not seeming like they are family members.
What happens in other countries?

Slavery is a terrible thing, and it is difficult to believe that human beings could have treated others human beings so badly. I can only imagine that it was out of ignorance, and that people did not realise or see that black people were just as human as them. The slaves suffered shocking treatment, and if they were alive today I would be the first to call for them to be paid for their pain and suffering.

But what is all this nonsense about reparations today. Who would pay?Who would be paid? The descendants? What about those who are mixed race? Do they pay themselves? There are more laws in the UK geared to protecting non whites than whites today. Black people are full members of society, and often cries of "racism" are unfounded. Some (not all) black people cry racism every time they fail to get a job or get treated badly by the police etc.. White people get the same treatment, but just accept it. We are all equal. Lets get on with the future and stop living in history!!

I'm trying to find information on contacting orphanages in Iraq to partner with to donate and fund raise.

I went to the site http://www.baghdadorphanage.org/ but the contact email is not working anymore. I've seen several sites like unicef and save the children but I'd rather deal with the people who need the help directly if possible.

Actually any contact information on donating to Afghanistan and Iraq child welfare providers would be great.

I found one site that serves a great deal of Countries, but they are also an indirect form of donating.

its because i don't smile and i don't like to cause obviously i hate my smile and plus i would look like a retard smiling at people i don't even know but im real nice to my friends, but im kinda snobby and wont talk to anyone other then my friends and usually if somebody smiles at me i never smile back unless i force myself to, what should i do?

nowadays, it is just about how you look and what you own... where do you think, we, as a society, ceased to look at people as people and what they stand for, what they believe in, their quality as people... now its just about 'dress to impress' and being superficial. when did we stop appreciating people for who and what they are?
