I'm asking this because, this new associate at my job said that she was so surprised that I was nice to her and I was like why and she said because most Black women aren't. Why do people generalize all people like that? Why can't people look at others as a individual?

Georgia, by far! It's a great state!

Georgia has the ATL, which is a phenom in and of itself. Truly a booming, cosmopolitan city with beautiful, well-manicured neighborhoods, nice clubs, and even nicer natives. But what surprised me was the fact that most people know what turn signals, polite driving, and yielding consist of in ATL. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if I moved there! Oh yeah, and talk about the women...tied with Texas for the most beautiful I've ever seen!

Kentucky is my native state, much against my will. Even in the small towns, I can not say that most people are polite, inside and outside of their cars. In fact, many people are quite standoffish and outright rude if you don't believe as they do (I don't have a KY accent, but I am still very conservative on economic and social issues and attend church every weekend.) Manners and southern hospitality just aren't as prevalent here, and even our cities are not as booming and cosmopolitan as parts of Georgia.

Where I work we answer the phone like this
"thank you for calling (company name) this is (my name) how may I help you today?"
I will comply & do it the way they want it done, but the callers always interrupt such a long greeting and cut us off before we finish.
I also find it annoying when I call places & they answer the phone with such a lengthy greeting.
Are we such a politically correct society we have to continue such long niceities when answering the phone, when a simple,
""hello this is (company name) may I help you,?" I mean come on why do they need our name & why should we thank them in the first breath for calling?
Do not get me wrong I am customer service orientied & believe in phone etiquette, what do others think?

People's actions towards you directly or indirectly has an influence on how you feel about yourself. If you recognize these sudden actions, then your feelings maginify (good or bad). Most people may not see whats around them, therefore their feelings may not maginify (good or bad). For those who have this intelligence may see the negative part that people view in you, but without the intelligence you may not know the negativy that people may view, therefore not knowing that, you would go along with the ride not knowing what people think, therefore since you were unaware, and just naturally went along, you changed people views without knowing, and made many friends. With the person that has the intelligence will be left in the dark because the negativy got to him, and did not change any hearts. Sometimes people have negative attitudes towards others because they may pre judge based on looks, age, race or national origin. I think it's horrible, but what can I say?

Many Asians got screwed over, suffering ill treatment for themselves and their families over the past 100 years in the United States. Example being the Japanese internment camps.

Yet, you don't ever hear any complaining or moaning about the past from this culture group. Only achievement and hustle.

Is there something to be studied and learned here?

Do we really think that we are so morally superior that we can force others to embrace democracy or evangelical christianity?
It astounds me that through our own ignorance, we believe ouselves to be the moral touchstone for the rest of the world. What can we do to change our own misguided self-importance?

Most women seem to apologize alot, not take a compliment, and seem to apologize for being around and seem SUBCONCIOUSLY to feel like an inconvience or assuming that they are always doing something wrong.

Men in general tend to be more egostic and assume that others will forgive their faults and tend to blame others more.

this is just a generalization.. I realize not all women and men fit this generalization. But I am wondering why???

Just an observation...of mine...maybe I am wrong...at least I hope so...but people are becoming more and more alienated from each other...and grouping up with their "race"...do you think people are starting to fear losing their cultures? Like you can see it in people's body language when they talk to somebody from a different race catagory...they stiff up, they lock their eyes on them, they don't know what to say....

This makes kind of makes me sad...because their seems to be no forgiveness anymore.
