Went to the library last night with my 5yr old and we whispered like I was taught to do as a child. The majority of other people adults included were talking and laughing like they were at the Roller Rink. One mother of 3 hoodlums who were running wild actually used the library research computers to check and send messages on her myspace page during this time one of her brood was bothering my daughter and I while we trying to read our books quietly in the corner. My question is what happened to the library? I loved going there when I was a kid it was always so peaceful does anyone actually go there to read or learn?
Why do parents think it's acceptable to allow their children to act this way we eventually left because the little hoodlum would not stop bothering us and I was too scared of his mother who was loudly discussing her issues with public assistance to ask him to leave us alone.

Remember this? The sort of thing old men say, to try and give you the impression discipline in 'their day' was a lot more harsh or whatever.

Like... whaaat?!

I'm sorry but the threat of that wouldn't deter me from anything!?!

I can just see the kids of old saying... "Oh please!!! Not THAT!!! Not the..... clip! I'm sorry!! I won't do it ever again!!! Anything but the.... clip round the top of my ear!!! I beg of you, NO!!!!"

Is it me or is that the most pathetic excuse for a punishment ever?

These days women are trying more and more to become equal with men, yet this strange 'manners' still apply. Such as holding the door open for women or not being able to hit a woman because she is a woman (among friends). Do you think everyone should be exactly equal? Socially, Ethically and ecnomically?

I can name several darker skin African American actors but I can probably only name one or two dark skin actress. I personally think brown or dark brown women are beautiful like Gabrielle Union, Angela Basset, Jessica White, that model Oluchi from Nigeria. But the ones put on a pedestal as the most beautiful Black women are Halle Berry and Beyonce who are both either mixed or light skin.

Just name three small things that brighten your day. Everyone could use a little pick-me-up. The ten points will go to the one who gives me the most underrated. Basically, the more creative, the better! Have a good day!

My girlfriend and I cuddle a lot and sometimes I sit on her lap. (Sometimes she sits on my lap too.) It seems to me that is atypical in that the girl usually sits on the guy's lap and not the other way around. What does everyone else think?

please answer this if you are a British Muslim Only! This is not to affend anyone.
I want to see how many muslim sisters/brothers actualy think that muslims girls require to wear a nikab to school whether it primary or secondary. I think its fine to wear a scarf.

Most of the muslim girls attend an all girls high school. Were I went, girls would wear a veil/nikab until they got to the school door. once inside the entrance they would take it off and wear a scarf through thier lessons and activites. They removed it for P.E. for safety reasons.

This is a kind and friendly question and I dont hope to affend anyone.

why would you want to wear a nikab during lessons? would you only wear it infront of male teacher?

do you feel any pressure in any way?

I had an interesting class during my culture and society class. We watched this short film where a really young guy kissed this really old lady. Everyone was like Ewwwww. So my lecturer said its the society that made us who we are. The soceity can't accept it when a woman dates younger man but they do accept man dating younger girls. I am curious. What do you guys think.

You are standing next to a lever that operates the points on a railway line. Operating the points can redirect the train off the main line and into a siding. There is a train coming and if you do nothing, the train will definitely kill 5 people (you don't know these people - they have no relationship with you, all adults, no children) who are stranded on the railway track a little further down the line. However, if you pull the lever and switch the points to send the train into the siding, it will miss the five people but will definitely kill one person who is stranded on this line.

Would you divert the train to save the 5 people, but kill the single person if.......

A. The person that would be killed is a 50 year old man
B. The person that would be killed is a 5 year old girl
C. The person that would be killed is a known paedophile
D. The person that would be killed is your wife/husband
