Why is the media more accepting of dark skin males then dark skin females?

Question

I can name several darker skin African American actors but I can probably only name one or two dark skin actress. I personally think brown or dark brown women are beautiful like Gabrielle Union, Angela Basset, Jessica White, that model Oluchi from Nigeria. But the ones put on a pedestal as the most beautiful Black women are Halle Berry and Beyonce who are both either mixed or light skin.

are these women ugly?

C'mon..you've got Gabrielle Union, Angela Bassett, Vivica Fox, Mo'Nique (who is not only dark but fat), Nia Long (who is gorgeous), Kenya Moore, Sanaa Latham, Naomi Campbell, Stacey Dash, Whoopi Goldberg, Golden Brooks, Sheryl Lee Ralph and more but I can't think.

They're not making as much of a buzz as Beyonce currently, but they are making serious cash in Hollywood.

The problem exists with men as well as women. Oftentimes, African-American men are seen playing stereotypical roles that perpetuate discrimination. We see more men, but if you count the ones that truly transcend the skin color barrier, we see as few men as women.

To directly answer your question, in women beauty is prized more than personality due to our sexist culture. As a general trend, fairness is associated with beauty, and so we see a lack of beautiful, dark women in the media.

It does look that way! i think of the least regular in the media, although, is old white women people. Even old African American women people income greater admire in the media. Be an old white woman and you're a comedian tale. genuine life is like that as nicely. talk approximately minorities!

I think dark skin males are more attractive and they have more capabilities in the media world. 'Tall dark and handsome' is the old comment for dark skin males and this saying is still popular all over the world today. However, dark skin females have yet to be explored. They, too have great talents!

Don't know but it's a personal thing. My cousin likes Gabi Union. I know alot of guys who like dark women. There are just a few who find beauty in color, but not in personality. Those are usually the ones who end up getting dumped.

fact is, successful male dark skin actors have features that make them look beautiful to white skin girls, and these are white skin ideas of beauty, and the same applies to dark skin female actors.
they have to look like beautiful white skin actors, only the color of their skin should be different.
the same is true for Asian actors, they are successful if they look European, with a yellow or brown skin (depends which side of Asia they come from)
