I had an interesting class during my culture and society class. We watched this short film where a really young guy kissed this really old lady. Everyone was like Ewwwww. So my lecturer said its the society that made us who we are. The soceity can't accept it when a woman dates younger man but they do accept man dating younger girls. I am curious. What do you guys think.

If it is their mutual decision in both the cases what is your problem? To each his/her own. It is true that such ill suited matches are not easy on the eyes of onlookers but if they are happy in this relationship so be it.....

The note cougar has no longer some thing to do with jealousy. It describes an older lady who dates youthful adult men. How is that jealous? An older guy that dates young women human beings is termed a letch or cradle robber. I bear in options letch from 3's corporation.

I had something like this happen to me before...the whole stupid double standard in dating. When I was a newly-turned 18 yr old in high school, I dated a guy that was nearly 3yrs younger than me...bordering in statutory rape I know, but keep in mind that I never...had...sex...with...him. Meanwhile, his same-age brother(they were both adopted, that's why they were "brothers" and the same age) had a 13-yr-old girlfriend that he had sex with. Him and his girlfriend even got caught having sex by both sets of parents! Yet the guy's mom blasted ME for dating someone "so much younger than I"! Apparently the mother was totally sexist, and thought that it was more "wrong" for the girl to be the older one yet stay abstinent in a relationship, than for the guy to be the older one yet be unprotectedly sexually active. It was so angering. It also caused a lot of rifts in my family, such as my mom trying to tell me(at age 18) that I wasn't "allowed" to see this guy anymore, since his mom was a whacko who perhaps might report me to the cops. Eventually, I got annoyed with the whole not being able to see this guy I was dating, so I went for other guys to get my mom off my back(technically I cheated).

The funny thing is, my being 18/female and abstinently dating a 15-yr-old was "bad." But my being 18 and having casual no-strings-attached sex with a 22-yr-old male pothead was "okay" and got my mom off my case because she was finally convinced that I was "over" the 15-yr-old. Oh how nice.

I think that if both people in the relationship are happy and respectful towards each other age is irrelevant and that people ought to mind their own business.
