I have heard that wearing high heel shoes causes leg problems for women in later years due to the improper stretching of muscles and such. My daughter asked me this and frankly I don't know but it would seem that it is a social demand that is unreasonable to me. I do believe it is a brainwashing of society to even think this is attractive as people from societies that don't have their women wearing them find them amusing but not sexy.

My partner and I currently live in a shitty city and want to move to the seaside. I realise that there are less employment opportunities and much less to 'do' in the country but I also think that you have more time in the country and can make your own fun.

Where do you stand? Busy city or happy in the countryside??

we have a mexican girl 23 years old that has been working for us for the past year. she speaks no english at all. she works 11 hours a day and is the only mexican there along with my mom and cousin. i try to converse with her to keep her from being bored but conversation is somewhat difficult. i know some spanish because i took 3 years in high school. we had some decent conversations before and i try to talk to her everyday. she only speaks when i talk to her and never talks to me. if i dont speak to her the whole day she will not talk to me. she is not a shy person. when i stand next to her it feels awkard like she is uncomfortable when im close. should i just stop trying to speak to her.

i do alot of club photography and i meet girls all the time, but i'm usually too busy taking pictures. i'm under contract with various clubs in boston. anyhoot, my question is this: i get girls coming up to me and say, "you're so f**king cute!"...i emphasize the word "f**king" because it's been used so many times in the same way i find this a strange pattern myself. i can guess what this means, but i would also appreciate some opinions out there. another fact that might help, these girls are almost entirely college girls. thanks in advance. ciao!

I have been modeling prom dresses at the local mall. I have to walk around in a prom dress and hand out flyers. My probelm is theres always older men (like 40's i guess and im 16) who like holler and whistle at us. How should I react to this? And these men are ones who are working in the mall!! I think it's so stupid!! Yesterday me and my friend like giggled it off and ignored it but I dont know if that was the right way to handle it or not.

What do you suggest I do?

In my experience, this works:

- Staying out of each other's way.
- Leaving each other alone (no stares, comments, etc.)
- Building on common interests.
- Thinking twice before reacting.

What doesn't work:

- Forcing people to interact.
- Acting like something you're not (for example, Hillary Clinton in Alabama).
- Thinking that legal equality = identical behavior

I knew that financially I could really only afford to have 2 children, so that they could have a good quality of life as well as me and my husband.
I would possibly have 1 more but that would be it. I have a really good job, as does my husband and we can provide for our children.
But the question has to be asked, why do some people have so many children when the only way they can afford this is via the govmnt!!
I have just been talking to this 1 woman. She has 5 children. 1 of them is disabled and lives in hospital as she went into labour early and he has a catalogue of problems as a result. She is now pregnant again even though she was told after the last one that if she got pregnant again there was a chance the next baby could go the same way.
She lives in a 2 bedroom house (although the council are trying to get her a 3 bed) and neither her or her 'partner' work as she looks has to go into hospital daily to see the disabled one and her partner looks after the other kids..WHY?

I'm sure you see the article on Yahoo. Now help me understand. In the midwest last year. We were behind an hour, so what at 8:00 was really 7:00, and instead of the sun going down around 8:00, it goes down at 9:00. Now if California is 3 hours, and do they get daylight saving time too? Am I going to bed earlier or later? What purpose does it serve? I mean wouldn't it be easier to just saty in the time zone your in? It kinda feels like the "Twilight Zone" (ROD STERLING: "Picture a man in the middle of America. On one side its 12:00. But on the otherside, it's 3:00. Now Daylight savings has pushed him...into the Twilight Zone..."Duh DUH duh duh (Repeat a couple times.) Hey, 10 points can be yours, no MATTER what crazy answer you give me Today! =)

I have!!! Sometimes it is hard for me to just stand back and ignore everything that people are doing around and to me. People just get so tired of doing the right thing and being a nice person because it is those people that get walked all over. I have came to realize that if I wasn't so sweet and considerate of others then maybe I would get the respect I deserve. Now days you have to demand it!!! You can't be nice about it. How come people don't respect and appreciate the people that are good to them?

Isn't that a weak and unintelligent way to persuade others?

The simplest solution to DST and time zones in the U.S. is not to have any.
People in California are the same time as New York so given the 3 hour difference, the average person in NY would wake up around 6 a.m. and in California the average person would wake up at 9 a.m. (their former 6 a.m.) In Indiana we have had to get use to changing clocks so why would it be such a culture shock to wake at 9 and goto bed around 8 p.m. in CA (the former 11 p.m.) Who cares about the number on the clock?
Is this even a conceivable idea?
