I have been modeling prom dresses at the local mall. I have to walk around in a prom dress and hand out flyers. My probelm is theres always older men (like 40's i guess and im 16) who like holler and whistle at us. How should I react to this? And these men are ones who are working in the mall!! I think it's so stupid!! Yesterday me and my friend like giggled it off and ignored it but I dont know if that was the right way to handle it or not.

What do you suggest I do?

Ask them arn't you old enough to be my grandpa? How would you like your daughter or grand daughter up here, would you act the same way! or if you don't feel you should confront them then have your parents speak to mall security, which should take care of the problem.

You could get your boss to talk to their manager or the centre management of the mall. If your boss won't then you could go with a parent. In any event, you should be able to work without being sexually harassed. It's just not right for people to treat anybody like that. Those dirty old men should be ashamed of themselves. You are a kid. I wonder how they would feel if they had a daughter and this was happening to them.

AnArdRi gave you a very good answer. Even "creepy old men" know better than to use such poor grammer. You can learn something from them afterall.
You should also know that 40 is not old, it is middle aged, people that are senior citizens are over 60 and then they may be considered old. You, by any standards are a child.
You could find the grace to accept the compliments in the spirit in which I am sure they were intended or lacking that sort of maturity you could pretend not to notice. That would probably be the best choice for you.

I wouldn't giggle it off, it might encourage one of the old perverts.

If you happen to glance in their direction, give them a cool stare and then keep walking. Do not engage in conversation with them.

Maintaining your dignity and distance is clearly the best path to follow.

If however, someone becomes truly abusive, do report it to your supervisor and mall security.

forget approximately approximately them, do no longer pay them any interest, and in the event that they persist tell your mothers and dads. an identical element got here approximately to me lots while i grew to become into 14-sixteen(i'm now 20 and it nevertheless happens), the unwell section grew to become into I gave the impact of a teenager and maximum of those men knew i grew to become into underage. What labored for me grew to become into ignoring them, and if that did no longer artwork i might call them previous perverts and purely shop going. no count if that's out of hand tell your mothers and dads or the police, if their comments are somewhat obnoxious and disgusting, then it must be seen as harassment.

If you want my honest answer and possibly you may not, I would suggest finding a different job, or just ignoring them. There is not much else you can do.

As a modified creepy older man myself (If you were to walk by in a prom dress, I would merely admire you and feel a wistful nostalgia for my long-lost youth) my recommendation would be to ignore the old guys.

If you don't mind, "me and my friend" is atrocious grammar. You might do better to write "my friend and I."
