Since the US has decided to change the date of Daylight Savings, that will obviously create a time problem in the other time zones around the world. Do other countries adjust change their clocks based on the American decision?

Was out and about round these parts the other day, and the locals just seemed to be very keen on us compared to the Americans, plus the Americans on camp always like talking to us. Do people generally like the British?

I am going on a vacation for 4 days, by myself. I just want to get out of town and away from everyone. I never have a second alone, and I want a break. Is there something wrong with doing that? When everyone asks what I am doing for spring break, I tell them, and they get this look of pity on there faces when they ask who I am going with and I say no one. It's not like I can't find anyone to go with me, but I don't want to. What do ya'll think? Is this something normal people do?

As many of you know daylight savings time has been moved forward by about 4 weeks this year, supposidly to help conserve energy.
This got me thinking, why don't we just move daylight savings time to the winter months? Summer days are long enough as it is, wouldn't it make more sense to try and use daylight savings to balance out the lenght of the days? It would save energy in the winter, cause the sun wouldn't go down at what seems like 4 o'clock, and we wouldn't have to use as much electricity for lighting.

Is it because we do not want to accept the truth ourselves?
Do we not have the guts to stand up to someone and say "That is not the truth, you are lying!"?

I want to think the best of people and I want to trust them even though I know they are not trust worthy.... case in point, President Bush.

I'd like to hear some of your answers out there in Y! Answers land.

As I type, "Behind the Music" is recapting the story of the life of Biggie Smalls because today's the tenth anniversary of the man's death. Well, tomorrow is the anniversary of Harriet Tubmans's death, but do you have hear any acknowledgement of that? No. What this about the killings of Biggie & Tupac being called assassins? They weren't the Kennedy Bros., Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Lincoln.

There were people dumping chemicals where I live, and they are actually coming up through the vent system from the basement. It has been going on for some time. One of them is benzene.

I have told the DEP, also local board of Health, but I think they are covering things up.
This is big, as developers want to put a developement in our town, remake it all over.
It very well goes as high as the state capital, the people who are in on this.
What can I do? I have been told by people, keep lips shut tight and leave. County does not want to help move me and I am also disabled.

I am an American "of color", and though I expect hardships everywhere on the planet (people cannot do any better, it seems) it looks like Canada is going to be my best option outside of Europe as a place to permanently settle. I am a professional, like arts and the great outdoors, jazz, and d.i.v.e.r.s.i.t.y. Christian woman, single, under 32. Is Canada an option? I am going to visit Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver soon. (When it gets warm). I am not Caribbean-descended. I am a southern-united states lady, quite old fashioned and somewhat conservative. Do we fare well in Canada? I'd like to check out the above-mentioned cities, but I also greatly desire a Canadian's (or permanent transplant's) opinion on the matter. I am very "artsy" and love folk fests and old places- architecture, literature, history, and anything outdoorsy. I love meeting people. I am multi-lingual as well and enjoy volunteer activities. In your opinion, where would a person like me most like fit? Thanks!
