Very normal. I like to do things alone like go to the movies and stuff like that. It is really good idea to do what you are doing. You know how to take care of yourself and you being alone will allow you to give yourself some time to think. You just want to have a couple of mental health days and kudos to you for realizing that.

Nothing wrong with that. Everyone needs an occasional break from things. So many people have become so codependent that it seems strange to see someone capable of doing things alone. I often go to movies alone just to get away. Some people see that as odd, but there is nothing wrong with it.
Go on your vacation and enjoy yourself with no guilt!

honestly i think its the best thing for a person to break away from the norm. I also think its awesome that these friends of your are giving you the pity look becasue if you ask anyone if they had the chance to get away from it and and relax, they would say yes. Just becasue its spring break doesnt mean you need ot party, especially if your worn down. Take this time to have fun on your own. you dont need to depend on others to determine your happiness.

Who are normal people?
Why is everyone else different from them?
My honest opinion is do what you want to do and nothing anyone else says about it should make a difference. I think it's a lesson you learn as you grow older in life, I do recall caring so much about what people said or thought during my high school years. I hope you realize that you should just find inner peace and disregaurd the criticism from others.

Sure--everybody should do that every once in a while. How else are you supposed to get any alone time? :) It's not healthy to have to be with someone else every minute, all the time, and never be willing to be alone with yourself.
Have fun! Don't forget to bring a good book :) (If you like to read, of course)

I would love to be in a position to go somewhere by myself. To get away from everyone, no one to care what time I sleep to or how late I want to stay up, if I didn't feel like dressing up, etc... I think that you are lucky.

Well, because your doing something different from what they wouild do. So they think somethings wrong, because, they don't know any better. Because, maybe they always went somewhere with someone, and they don't feel its right to be alone. because some think you just don't do that. its not normal. i always look for places to be alone. It does one good sometimes. It give them a sense of being independant.

Absolutely normal for a person with self-esteem. You have an obligation and a duty to take care of your own needs as you see fit. It's nobody else's business what you do. Some people just like to control others thru psychological manipulation, like their opinions are godlike and they should be obeyed...don't fall for it. It's their personal lie. It's a sign of maturity to take care of yourself, regardless of other people's opinions.

Hi, this is Chad at the Crisis Center. We appreciate your call. Leaving everyone for a few days is not a big issue. In fact, some people enjoy their solidute so much, they become recluses such as J.D. Salinger-and look at the great works he produced. So enjoy yourself! Thanks for calling and have a nice day.
