I have noticed that, especially in the US, there is so much racism and so much homophobia in this country. It's like everybody here is out to hate each other. Sure, there are broad minded people, including myself (least I try to be), but so many people are ignorant where I'm from. Does any of you know an open minded place either in the US or the world that tends not to judge people by race, orientation, religion, etc...? (I know it exists everywhere, but I'm talking the LEAST-judgmental place)

I just started a question about how people view their country and it's good points, so I thougtht I might as well do one about the opposite.
Keep in mind that this is just a question to see how people view their country and should be taken lightly, so say whatever you want to say!

I'm of mixed Puerto Rican/Italian-Irish heritage, but I have a couple of questions regarding hispanics. I'd like 2 start by saying I don't mean 2 generalize in any way, & I understand that not all hispanics r a certain way or as the questions I ask here.
1st off, why do many hispanics give people dirty looks all the time and stare a lot? I know people can be mean 2 them but they often look at me (as well as others) & stare for no apparent reason (I don't even look at them in any bad way). Most of the time they stare and don't even know the person, why are they so judgmental, especially 2 people who they don't know?
Secondly, why do they put white, asian, & mixed hispanic-white people down so much but yet a lot of them glorify black people so much? A lot of them put us mixed ppl down.
Third, why is it when I go to a resturaunt or store if there is a hispanic working there they are usually nasty & rude with their service, esp girls?
Lastly, why are a lot of them so homophobic?

I know Royal Mail lost its monopoly status last year, but are they ever going to learn to deliver stuff in line with their own guidelines? They've had 351 years to develop the service, for pity's sake. Lazy gits.

drug addicted people have drug rehab places to go to when they need help... is there any thing I can do to try to have people in the higher political offices help other offenders have a safe place to go to help themselves before they end up in trouble? Any suggestions on how to go about this?

Are the ways you do this superficial?

As a Canadian, I was brought up to respect people from other countries as a way to honour my own. Flag waying was never really big in my family but treating the national anthem with respect and those of others was.

I wonder tho, if honouring our country meant being better people, how much better of a world we'd have.

(I'm not saying that I'm doing a great job on that front. Perhaps the most patriotic of people are those who give of themselves to make the world a better place rather than those who are friendly or flag wave.)
