Most countries outside the tropics go to Daylight Saving Time.

The only ones that wll change on March 11th, right now anyway, are the US, Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas and Cuba. Mexico currently changes time on the first Sunday of April.

Europe's clocks go ahead the last Sunday of March. Israel and in the Arab countries where daylight time is observed use other dates that vary.

In the Southern Hemisphere, Daylight Time ends in March. Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay turn their clocks back this weekend. New Zealand ends Daylight Time next weekend, the morning of the 18th. Australian Summer Time ends on the 25th. Namibia leaves it until Sunday April 1st.

So you can see that, although the dates vary all over the world (which is why you can be sure that the Y2K stories spinning through the news now are mere hoohey), Daylight Saving Time is here to stay. At least until November. (giggles)

Most countries in the world do not use DST and, they don't seem any worse off than us. DST, simply, isn't necessary.
There are still two states in the US that do no use it. Like most things that Indiana seems to do they screwed up and changed us to it. There are a lot of counties that want to go back. Just another costly mistake.
