My ex-wife has custody of then and because of legal reasons we decided not to have any contact between the two of us, but does that give me the right to be able to send the dogs new collars and treats for Christmas?

I'm an American and after I started traveling abroad and meeting people from other countries I began to realize how unconnected Americans are to the rest of the world.

Most Europeans seem to speak at least two languages if not more, while the Average American speaks only English, and Americans tend to carry an attitude that English is the only language that matters. The majority of history classes in American schools center around American history.

Also, electronics sold in America tend to be incompatible with other countries. For example, televisions and DVD players in Europe tend to be mostly multisystem (PAL/NTSC), while American equipment are typically NTSC only, and PAL/NTSC equipment is VERY hard to find in the US. This is likely in part because Americans generally have no interest in foreign films.

So why are Americans so unconnected with the rest of the world? And when will this change?

a guy of your same race likes you and a guy of a different race likes you. They acted exactly the same, who would you pick? I know it's not possible to act exactly alike but this is hypothetical only.

Call me an intellectual elitist, but are people getting dumber? Just reading the questions and answers posted here makes my head hurt. I make plenty of errors myself, but seriously... The internet is a cesspool. I love it, but is one huge f-ing cesspool.

I just got off the phone with Dish Network and I have to say I am floored by their "please bend over little lady while we stick it to you" attitude. I couldn't help thinking that they must have THE WORST "Customer Service" ever. But, Maybe I'm wrong. You tell me.

I know a person that has extremely high expectations of me and because of these expectations, whenever I let them down they ignore me for days at a time. They often act very surprised and even disappointed when I dont know something that they do. Keeping in mind this person is 6 years older than me, has been to college, co owns a company and went to all four years of high school. I, on the other hand went to a 2 yr business high school and graduated at 16 which is why I'm missing vital history info. Right now I am in college majoring to be a Teacher so I still have a lot to learn. The other day we were talking and I didn’t know something and they got all weird and made this big deal about it. It made me feel like I was being put down. The next day I tried to call to chat and they hung up the phone on me. I feel like I’m under great pressure to live up to this persons standards and like there is no room for air or era.Is it wrong to end this friendship? Serious Responses only please.

they know what answer they want to hear (usually the one that backs up what they thought, even if it's wrong) and are going to pick whoever agrees with them even if they're wrong? it drives me insane. why did you ask the question if you didn't weren't going to listen to anyone but those who backed you up?

It is like a stick shift in the car. Second and third gear are missing. So I can only be nice or really angry. So I don't ever say anything to anyone. Example: Some one gets into my personal space. I am told that westerners have a comfort zone of four feet. I assume every one should Know the rules, right. I mean the Japanese know how to go through a very complicated bowing ritual. Anyway, no polite responses EVER come to mind (only things like "get the **** away from me you cretin) so I never say anything.

okay. i just want an opinion. anyways, im legally blind and in school. i laugh about being blind all the time with my camp friends. they are also blind. i've been going to blind camp for years now and every year, we get into the same conversation about people not liking us laughing at ourselve and making jokes about it. they say "its not good to laugh about things like this." i tell ask them if they'd rather see me moping around being all depresses (which i dont). so i just wanna hear someone's opinion. o and has this ever happened to u guys??? thanks a lot!
