maybe when they look it, or are in their senior years 55+
otherwise, they are just "adults"...to me:
18-30=young adult
30-50=adult
50-65=senior and above
65+=senior also

I'm going to have to go with... it depends on who's judging. When you're 15, 30 can be considered old. I'm 24 and 50 seems old (but obviously not nursing-home-old). I know a 76 year old with enough energy to be 18, she doesn't seem old to me ("you're only as old as you act"). In my opinion it depends on the individual, their personality and their physical health, but I think the most people consider you old once you qualify for senior discount or catch yourself being a part of the "early bird dinner" crew.

ha! I'm 55 and I still don't think of myself as middle-aged. You will find that as your body ages, you will still think of yourself as your favorite age. I still think I'm going to do all those things that I wanted to, but my body just won't support all of them anymore. It's like being trapped in someone else's body - some old person!
Your day is coming - think about that and see if it changes your attitudes toward people older than you.

Old is always 15 years older than you are! I'm 49, and you can bet your boots that old is not 50!! 65, 70, MAYBE... LOL
