Remember the seperation of church and state? Therefore "THE BIBLE SAYS ITS WRONG" is not a good reason...

Also tradition is not a good reason either, since people are divorcing left and right...And obviously don't respect the idea of marriage...

So I would like some valid opinions on why people feel gays should not have the right to marry...

In the streets it doesn’t matter where you’re from, where you live, what hood you’re from or what gang you belong to. The one thing people in the streets strive for is RESPECT. The biggest thing that’s miss understood on the streets.

Smoking is getting banned everywhere. Is it:
a) Because smokers are killing themselves
b) Because smokers are hurting other people
c) Because smokers are an easy target
d) Because our president is a dip-sh*t
e) None of the above...the asker of this question is a dirty hobbit and a waste of skin...

I had thought it is because they are hurting others...with that logic, maybe we should do something to people that drive while talking on their cell phones, or people that drive too fast, or people that just smell bad, or people that cheat in relationships, or anyone else that does anything to hurt anyone...

Might I suggest a more effective solution? You can't impose the same punishment on people that drive on their cell phones and that is just unfair. Maybe we should cut everyone's nipples off?

Yes, yes...that is what we will do...we will cut the nipples off of anyone that does anything to hurt anyone...I will start today...

What do you prefer girls a man who does the shopping, reads the classics and likes his slippers by the fire, or a man who, when you come through the door rips off your vest and makes love in the lobby (hall) ?

Why do most countries not have female warriors? is it because countries fear that women will be raped, that they are too small and too weak for the job, or is there some other reason? I heard a rather thought-provoking explanation once: that men are more expendable because you only need one or a few men in a village to repopulate it after heavy combat losses. If only one or a few women were left, repopulating a village would be impossible.

When my kid was in middle school, one of the rules in the Student Handbook stated that, "if a student is attacked by another, then he/she is required to try and flee to get help, rather than stand & defend". If the victim fought back, he/she would be treated equally as the attacker because he/she resorted to physical violence too.
Doesn't that just smack of something right out of California with all their socialistic school laws & rules?
I taught my kid to bag that rule, fight back & defend; then we'd deal with anything else in court.
I speak also of California being the home of banning dodge-ball, tag, and other such nonsense.

Why shouldn't citizens be forced to contribute to society? I think young adults are too selfish. They could delay college for a year or two and volunteer in a hospital or some such service (including the military). This would decrease their level of apathy and increase their sense of community.

Racism must be part of human nature and if this is so, it will never go away. I only ask this question b/c I was amazed at the amount of racist comments that are on here. Since we can hide behind screen names on here, maybe this place is a better representation of the amount of racism in the world as opposed to what we see during our daily lives (sounds weird, but think about it).
I bet part of the answer is that we feel the need to categorize and group each other and color is a very easy way to do it. Once the grouping is done, competition comes in to play and then racisms shows its ugly head.

I started dating a Muslim man over one year ago. When we met I was allowed to be the real me. Now, I have changed many things from moving, not working, dressing differently, not wearing makeup, and doing everything he asks without question. I fell in love with him from the beginning and he was wonderful. He seems to follow the culture more so than the religion. I need some insight to what he expects from me and why I cannot be the person I was from the start that he fell in love with as well. Now I do not have a voice and he is always right with any opinion. He still gives me what I want and does treat me well but this is only if I follow his lead and ask no questions. I am not sure if the way he treats me now is based on feelings that he lost although he does not say or this is the way it will be and I am seeing true colors. I know Muslim men respect their women but I do not see this anymore after our year plus living together. Insight from the Muslim community would be helpful.

My husband and I live in an apartment building. We happen to have the bottom apartment. Well, our upstairs neighbor has been having loud sex for the past week, late at night waking me up from my sleep. It's not so much that she's being loud, but her bed squeaks LOUDLY and UNEVENLY, and sometimes I can hear the headboard banging agaisnt the wall, so I know the other neighbors hear her too. I'm not intentionally trying to hear, but it's impossible to ignore such an annoying noise. What should I do?

First question, why don't the Salvation Army, Red Cross, etc. share a network where they enter the names of those who have already received assistance from one source, that way their resources can be available for those other than whom abuse the system?

Second question, why do people take whatever it is they can get for free without any regards to those who may truly need it?

Third Question, if someone wanted to start an assistance program to help those who actually do take care of their own and live pay to pay who may stumble now and then, what steps would they need to take to get their idea into motion and to get something like that set up?

Because truth be told if you're middle class and something happens, because you're not at poverty there is no help (I suspect that is partially to blame from those who abuse the system! By the time the people who abuse it, there's nothing left for the middle class, hence where the 1st question comes from!)
