Violence has been a part of human nature (and flaws) since the time that Cain slayed Abel. If you did any deep studies of mankind, you will find atrocities on all lands by all peoples. From battles within family's to wars between nations. It is unending. I think that someone once did a guesstimation of the time on earth in man's history when there were NO wars recorded and they came up with some 70 years of peace.
I don't think that the world is more violent, it is just that there is more publicity and awareness of it than before. The media has taken it off the newspapers that were hours old to the Internet which is instantaneous. We are deluged with too much information and it can become rather overwhelming.
Perhaps that is where more prayer can come in?

The world has actually gotten LESS violent. Where have you been? More people have civil rights, global conflicts are minor, and thanks to all the "Lib" organizations like Amnesty International, the Red Cross, and the U.N., state abuses of citizens have gone down globally.
The only thing that's more violent is popular entertainment. But that's not real violence.
Things were much worse a century ago.

Absolutely, especially against children. When I was a child we could go anywhere and not have to worry about sexual deviants. I am sure there were some of course but not like today. Every time I turn around someone is getting kidnapped, raped, molested, it is disgusting. I also remember as a kid how during the hot summer days we would leave the front door open and at night we would sleep with the front door open and only the screen door closed to let the cool air in. Nowadays if you leave the door open, you are liable to have a home invasion or someone running from the police coming in to hold you hostage. It is sickening.

I was even more violent as you look back in History. It is still violent, and it is really difficult to look at the violence on the TV screen. One would think that seeing it would make one think differently and of Peace. It does not seem to have any effect on the violators. Think thoughts of Peace Pray for World Peace, and may your Christmas be blessed

Yes. Never mind the idiot that says its less violent. Kids are carrying knives to school and the world is coming undone. Good question friend. Too bad those idiots that think it hasn't can't see the big picture. They probably are the ones doing the violence. The idiots.

"Gotten"? The world has always been violent ever since cain killed Able, but as someone pointed out there weren't reporters, television, Internet to let every see it right away.

ROTFLMAO! In my last answer, I jokingly said that I get intimidated not by tall people but by people with firearms and then I see this question!! LOL!
Hey, the world has ALWAYS been a violent place. We just didn't have reporters on every corner with TV cameras ready, willing and able to report the violence.
