I hear a lot that looks for women are not as important as they are for men. Is this true? What trait about a man matters most to women, and what trait about a woman matters most to men?

Yea...1 fourth of the population is retarded--just look at the bell--curve...another fourth is subhuman, and 1 fourth is normal...and then like 1 fourth is 'smart'..this is how we get our average of '100'

I am not putting others down...I am just saying...if this (1) retarded fourth---is true...then should we regard 'mainstream' entertainment as retarded? after all, mainstream entertainment is engineered to appeal to the masses to maximize their profit (movie studios...have to be sure of a guaranteed buck or they go broke)...so if (2) is true...then...

is general media also retarded...and does this mean then that we should recognize the general media as subhuman? since smarter people cannot appreciate it? sometimes looking for something to like, but finding nothing because it can only be appreciated it by the retarded portion of the population?

Listen, I am not here to bash liberals or to bash people that have a strong opinion of America. But I cant help but notice that many liberals seem to hate the country they live in. I just don't get it, I understand we are not perfect and there are many things that can be fixed. But name one country that cant be fixed, better yet, name me one country thats perfect. I can find anything wrong in any aspect in life and I just dont understand why liberals are so pro-anti-american (or atleast seem to be).

And you can pretend you are not but when essentially you want Bush and others in office to fail, how can I think anyother way? Its not to say you should agree with the Presidents policy, but atleast show some gratitude and act as if you appreciate you live in the greatest country in the world where, (it comes off as) you take for granted the fact you are so graciously able to express the opinions you are allowed to express.

Can u agree somewhat?

Ok, so I know a lot of people that play video games for fun every now and then..some even play regularly but limit their time to an hour or so at each session. What do you think of people that spend more than a few hours each day playing video games? Are they wasting their lives and their health being unproductive and lazy? Or is playing video games like any other hobby and, thus, something that people should do whenever they feel like it? Sometimes I see these guys who work to basically afford paying for video games...isn't that a little bit out of whack?

The war on drugs began in Reagan's Era and has proven to remove Crack/Cocaine only to be replaced by a resurgence of heroin. As heroin died down it was replaced with designer drugs, and as those became less popular, we have found ourselves in the midst of a Crystal Meth problem.
My questions Are:
Has this war proven at all successful?
Do you think there is a better solution (such as honest education instead of fear mongering)?

I if there is demand drugs will always be available in form or another. Therefore we need to slow down the demand. What do you guys think?

Why is it that people think they are entitiled to free everything??
You don't work?? Let us (the taxpayers) feed your family of 6 that you can't support on your own?
Can't pay rent because you can't keep a job because you can't afford daycare for your 5 kids?? Let us pay your rent, your electricity, feed your whole family and provide you with free medical insurance!! People say everyone deserves to be treated equal??
Hell no, they don't.
If you don't bust your a** every day like normal people, you don't deserve what you get. We don't get any extras. We don't have people handing us free stuff. The people who WORK, but make minimum wage, get nothing but $20.00 a month in food stamps.
I know that there are special circumstances for people who are disabled or going to school, and I am proud to live in a country that will help those people. But the able bodied and able minded should have to take care of themselves.
Am I too harsh or do you agree??
Get this, I'm a Democrat!

I was only just skimming Y! Answers when this thought hit me hard. There's several threads concerning American accents and how they sound to foreigners, and I read so many responses to the effect of, "Americans sound loud and talk fast" (because we're all from Boston or New York City, right?). But the type of answer that truly irritated me related to being a painfully stereotypical southerner, more specifically from Texas. I've talked to some people from the south and even they can't figure out how in the h*ll Bush got his accent. I mean, the vast majority of Americans probably talk with a mild, if not Midwestern type accent (influenced by TV reporters and the like). I'm from Illinois and I've been told from my English friend that I speak clearer than most people he deals with on a daily basis. So what's up with foreigners having such a poor opinion of our spoken English? Surely they can't be so ignorant as to believe we're all a bunch of "cowboys" I refuse to believe that.

As a woman with traditonal values I cannot stand pushy, overconfident women who seem to think they know everything. Any the married ones expect to be equals rather than submit to their husbands like they are supposed to, thus rising divorce rates because the couple "grew apart or she had to find herself".

They have become bossy and loud rather than softspoken and gentle.

And no I am not a guy, I just are disappointed in what women have become.

If you were a Doctor and had five patients all in need of different organs on their death beds, and you also had a healthy patient in the hospital for a physical matching all their donor types, and knowing you could get away with it, would you kill the healthy person to save the lives of the other five patients? Or do you let them die?

damnit.

I was thinking today on alot of stuff. On what I want in life and what I might become. I thougth about my future and what my life will mean in the next 20 or so years. What will I do, what wont I do. so here it is.
I dont know if I wanna have kids, I dont know if its worthwhile.
I dont know if I want to get married.
I dont know what Im studying in this college, but I do know Im having a damn good time in and out of school.
I dont know ,
and It makes me angry.

I know im a product of my conditions. I know I am who I am today because of how I was raised and the values, thoughts, beliefs instilled in me. So i cant escape that. At least, no one will help me.
And thats okay, because im the one not really reaching out
no really, its okay
really.....

Maybe if I cave in to the influences, I can find a way to make it work. Make things worthwhile for myself. As an ordinary person,
make it happen. Hell, If I marry someone famous, I can still be rich and if I get pregnant, Im pretty set
And the security, the money, my needs may be met. Not my wants but who cares again? I dont know,

I just dont know.

At work I notice that even the smartest people, when grouped together, become idiots. 2 heads are better than one seems to be okay, but anything more and stupidity reigns. Anyone else notices this?

Do a Yahoo! search on "fluoride conspiracy" and see what comes up. Fluoridated water kills brain cells, causes brain damage, and can also cause fluorosis.

What if I told you that the Gub-ment doesn't add fluoride to public water systems to make your teeth shiny - But rather to turn you into sheep?

Why are people who can look pretty on camera and pull-off a convincing crying scene (thanks to eye-drops), and people who can throw a football really far or a basketball through a hoop paid WAYYYYYY more than our firefighters who put their lives on the line for others, our mental health professionals who dedicate their professional lives to helping others improve the quality of their lives, or our teachers who instill knowledge in our future generation?

I don't think people who act, sing, or play sports don't have their purpose, but should they be making more money than they know what to do with while the rest of us struggle?

It's hard to want to dedicate your life to a worthy cause when providing entertainment value is what is rewarded.

Sorry, I know, it's just a fact of life in this society, and it does no good to be bitter about it, which I'm not. Just frustrated.

And I'm SICK of 'TomKat'! Ugh!
