The war on drugs began in Reagan's Era and has proven to remove Crack/Cocaine only to be replaced by a resurgence of heroin. As heroin died down it was replaced with designer drugs, and as those became less popular, we have found ourselves in the midst of a Crystal Meth problem.
My questions Are:
Has this war proven at all successful?
Do you think there is a better solution (such as honest education instead of fear mongering)?

I if there is demand drugs will always be available in form or another. Therefore we need to slow down the demand. What do you guys think?

The war on drugs has really done a few things
1. It has denied the government a huge taxable resource pool.
2. It has made drugs far cooler than if they were legal.
3. It has prevented people from becoming legitimately educated about drugs.

It hasn't made a dent in the demand, as such, those who can appease America's demand for drugs will continue to supply it. Spraying crops in Colombia and Bolivia hasn't done jack, since America demands drugs and the narcotraficantes and growers can still profit because we love the drugs so much. All we've done is waste billions and tick off people there by killing off their livelihoods without providing any viable alternatives.

"if there is demand drugs will always be available in form or another" - EXACTLY. Remember learning about prohibition?

The supposed war on drugs has done nothing positive. I agree that we need proper, honest education.

The solution is to legalise it all. Honestly, that may sound like a dumb idea but it is the best solution. By legalising it all, you take any money out of it. People can grow/make what ever they want in their own homes if they so choose. there would be no more crime related to drugs.

I think that we need better health care for all people. I know this is not the answer you wanted, nor did you expect it. As our court drug officer what I see most is that people using are self-medicating. They usually have no insurance or are too ashamed to get therapy. All of them have one fact in common: they won't tell where it really hurts as they have been slammed by their health care professional and feel shame.
