Now that shopping is a past-time what do you think about going out and buying cds, dvds, clothes or whatever, as a way of enjoying yourself rather than as a necessity?

I have a bit of money and am thinking about getting myself some new clothes, but then I find myself going along with the whole consumerist thing and feeling slightly ashamed. I just wondered how other people felt.

The only question I wanna ask you is why are here bad people, who are having fun in making the others feel blue, or who hurt everybody just because they are in the bad mood.I wanna know why are here alcoholics which are destroying not only their lives but the other´s too. I am only 17, my life was tough but I know life is beautiful, and I know nobody will make me really happy but me. I am enjoying my life and I am thankful to God for every single day, but somehow, after this terrible afternoon when I had to run away from my own father...i somehow dont understand it. I wanna know the answer why isnt everybody enjoying his life, and why he is trying to destroy ours. Maybe I am not mature enough to find it out myself.Hey folks!Please be happy and still have smile upon your faces, even if you have problems.Everything is easier with smiles!and help the others!Nothing can be worst than being a bad person!Life is too short for being angry with somebody!

The 32 year old man is angry that cars are parked on the side of the road (No parking areas) blocking traffic and the police won't do anything about it. The man has egged them 4 to 5 times and they have finally moved & the man is very proud he took the law in his own hands and got the job done. What do you think of this?

This whole thing where Hollywood liberal Micheal Richards hurled racial slurs at two black men in the audience disgusts me. The "N" word should NOT even be in existance any more.
I think part of the problem is that there seems to be (correct me if I'm wrong) an attitude in the African American community that it is O.K. for blacks to use this word and to call each other this name (because of the oppression they've faced) but when whites use it, it is obviously not O.K.
My question is why can't we just make the use of this word wrong ALL of the time? If we don't we only perpetuate this problem. Example, white boy likes rap, hears the "N" word glorified about 40 times in just one song, then your going to tell him not to say this word??
Another example- the word "groovy". It was very popular and cool in the 60's. Now it is very uncool, and is laughed at in Scooby Doo and Austin Powers flicks.
If we can make this word uncool and not use it in anything it will die. Jackson is right.

ok i'm NOT racist my family has many black and mixed members
but have you ever noticed that a black man can have a bumper sticker that say's i'm black and proud but a white man is conciered a racist if he has one that say's I am white and proud the same thing goes for almost any other culture thy can have something that may say proud latino or any thing concerning there herritage the only thing a white man has that doesn't make him racist is his skin if u where a DIXIE OUTFITTERS t-shirt u are often concidered racist -some people understand that not all white people are racist but has any one other than me ever realized this

I just sat down at my comp. for my coffee break, hoping to have a pleasant time here. I switched on my TV also and heard the horrifying news that a mother in Ohio has been arrested for cooking her infant in the microwave. It has made me physically sick. Some people are worse than animals. Animals would never do something as bad as that. Do you feel that you must turn the TV off and throw away your newspapers sometimes? Does it all get to be too much for you? Maybe I'm weak but, sometimes I can't take it for a while.

Have you noticed that adults tend to dismiss what children have to say as silly? They, and teenagers, often make astute observations about themselves, us (adults) and the world in general. Even we in our twenties are barely recognised in matters of importance.

The voice of the young is most notably ignored in politics, whereby old people, usually with no understanding of the financial hardships many members of the public go through, make decisions for all of us, at all ages. Not that I criticise age as a component of leadership, but there is no representation whatsoever for younger people, and I think youth in general are not given enough credit for being able to think and reason. Why do you think that is, and how can we change it on a large scale?

I am hearing things in the news about how people are starting to accept having their identitiy placed on a micro computer chip and having it implanted under their skin so that they can identify themselves and make purchases and do other personal business like banking, medical exams, etc..
